Is there a consensus out there re. brands that may be preferable for plugging in a J-45 into a fishman amp? Am I overthinking the importance of cords or is there a brand that seems to be a favorite?

I don't believe there is any legislation forbidding fingerpicking any model guitar. As with so many topics it's a personal preference. I think we often get caught up in being at one with the herd.

I don't know how to do it but if you go on Youtube (The North American Guitar ) you can hear Carl give some insight into how he operates. I was a bit amazed that he said that for recording he used a Gibson J-45 Vintage more than any other brand (Collings Julian Lage etc.) Plus his preference for picks. Check it out.

That's all good because you got in early but for the rest of the mere mortals it's a difficult trek. Be grateful. And I'm certain that you are.

I was wondering ... you have , and have had, quite a selection of guitars. Are you ever satisfied and say "that'll do" or is it an itch that can never really be scratched?
