  1. I have the same uncertainty, LR Baggs state 1,000 hours on a fully charged ( new ) battery . I would love to purchase a meter that could be plugged into a jack plug to measure the charge of the battery inside the guitar ( do they make one ??? ) I change the battery on my J45 Standard every six months , used or not
  2. Indeed my J45 ( 2015 ) has some of the same imperfections ie buildup of nitro around the fingerboard joint , a dull forearm patch and general small imperfections in the finish . Would I sell it , no is it the best sounding guitar I own , yes . Play it and love it it's a Gibson at the end of the day
  3. I have the TC electronics Flashback Delay , this has a looper fuction , good enough for me
  4. Had another listen to this with more time , two things are really noticeable to me apart from the Epi and Gibson comparison 1, The difference in tone produced by the different plectrum material , the guy on our right as we look at the screen is using a much softer pick and it really shows in the resulting tone .2, As a new owner of Gibson acoustics it has really surprised me what good sounding guitars these are for fingerpicking most players choose OO or OOO size guitars but these two Gibsons sound amazing
  5. Without appearing a guitar snob it's a really good video proving that it's worth spending the maximum you can afford on a guitar to keep . What really stands out is the quality of the cheaper guitars , you really get a lot for your money nothing at all wrong with either , good guitars . Trouble is the USA guitars sound brilliant at ten times the price . The big question , is the sound ten times better . To me the answer is yes . I'm biased as the hummingbird will be if all goes well my next guitar
  6. I personally wouldn't try to fix this myself . I would return the guitar back to the dealer that you bought it from without delay . Taking into account the quality and cost of a new Gibson Hummingbird I would expect this to be dealt with by Gibson under warranty. I would also phone the dealer without delay to log the date the defect was reported by yourself
  7. Just looked on line at my local dealer £1099 for the J15 2016 . Wish we had access to such a great instrument when we started out . Just imagine a new J15 , access to all the great You Tube lessons , what a great time to take up the acoustic guitar as you rightly say it's an ideal guitar for a lifetime
  8. Hi When I bought my J45 I played both the J45 and the J15 . In the UK the J15 received a brilliant review in Acoustic Magazine nearly five stars in all sections . During my playing of both guitars I found the J15 a wonderful guitar that I found more direct than the J45 slightly more boxey but in a good way, the playability was first class . Moving on to the J45 i like the sunburst finish and the sound seemed more mellow and deep this suited me because I play more guitar only fingerstyle music and lead lines ( I don't sing very much ) the pickup system is the same and so is the case . Both guitars in fact all the Gibson Acoustics I played were brilliant hand made guitars , the only other one I really liked was a J200 , the sound to die for just too big . the only thing I don't like is the fact that Gibson advertise the make of guitar on The side of the case and also the case is VERY heavy for a really light guitar .
