  1. Hi, I suppose the theme about vintage ABR-1 Bridges (in this case 1958/59 ES 335) is pretty well covered. My question is not about the bridge itself, its about the saddles. I searched the net about this subject, and could find some infos, but no explanation about when the diagonal tooling marks appeared, and could be proof for an exact dating of the saddles/ bridge. There is some post where people say that saddles with diagonal tooling marks are proof for 59 saddles, or also that the top shape of the saddles indicated a rather specific year of production. I have 3 different vintage version at hand, one version is sharper on top, with less clear diagonal tooling marks, the other one flatter with (wide) diagonal tooling marks. Another saddle version is sharper on top with no diagonal tooling marks. Here are pics of the 3 versions the saddle only pics have both sharper tops thanks very much on some insights about the subject I hope youcan see anything, had to minimize the size for upload
