Personally, I’m waiting for the green burst version with diamond shaped inlays, as seen in an article a year ago. I’ve been in contact with Gibson and it’s sounding like the green burst may not materialize.

I guess I am addicted to collecting guitars.....I have always been a collector of sorts and I have always loved heavy metal and rock & roll. Since my son started playing a couple years ago my wife always guitars to sit in stands around the house, so now I can always pick one up without pulling out a case just to noodle around for a bit. I think the 1985 Explorer XPL's are cool. I just got one and is a great guitar which should be increasingly appreciated as time goes on. The one thing that does seem odd about them though, is that they don't seem to be sold with their original hardshell cases very often. Mine came with an aftermarket case as do many that I have contemplated. Cheers, Brent
