You should get into building your own pedals. You could make an ocd with the clipping diodes on a rotary switch and have all the options in one pedal It would have been so easy for Fulltone to put that on a switch. They probably didn’t want to modify their enclosure or PCB designs

I’m guessing maybe dem00n who hated EMG

Just hit it with a mallet

lol Murph please tell me you’re being sarcastic about the stapler suggestion

lol did he get in some trouble with the PC police or something? The only thing he did that I really liked was remaking the Echoplex. Nothing sounds like a reel tape echo (see what I did there) and he did a great job on that. The OCD has at least 4 different versions but I’m not a big fan. The Fuzz Face and Rangemaster are too generic to assign any credit to Fulltone but a good example of either are always fun

Holy **** the advice here is so bad. Hit the knobs with a mallet? Wow I realize this is a necro post but… Add a second nut to the threaded bushing of the pot and use it to adjust how much of the shaft is sticking out. One nut below the top to adjust height, one nut above the top to secure it down. That would normally be way too complicated for most of you guys to handle but on a semi hollow where you have to fish the electronics through the f holes… out of the question. When your best idea is to smash it with a mallet just go to the luthier

I may buy a used guitar, is this finish issue something to worry about?

When Gibson said the fretboard contracted they were assuming you realize it’s glued to the neck. This happens to pretty much all old guitars if you don’t maintain proper humidity. What you are describing never happens. So by all means I would choose the option that pretty much always happens over the option that never happens I think you’ve already confused the hell out of these guys though -

You got some bad info here. The fretboard cannot shrink separately from the neck it is glued to unless it is no longer glued together. That doesn’t appear to be the case here but generally I feel like the likelihood of that happening is so small it shouldn’t be considered The neck shrunk to a greater extent than the frets. The fret ends are finished over so as the fret end pushes out proud of the neck it pushes the finish along with it Nitro lacquer also can shrink and crack and it tends to do so along seams no matter how fine. That’s why you always see the finish cracking around the Gibson inlay on the headstock. For that reason, the finish cracked along the fretboard to neck seam. There is almost certainly no structural issue. Just like when you see a line in the finish on a Gibson set neck joint. Nothing to worry about -
Anyone Listen To King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard?

I’m at work with a younger guy right now and I let him take over the radio (streaming from Apple Music or something. I’m loving the newer stuff he’s playing. Makes me feel good that it’s not all lost -

I’ve been a fan for a while. I remember we had chatted a few years ago about your son being a fan too I saw them at Red Rocks in Colorado and it was such an awesome show. Saw them before in LA once also. At the Red Rocks show I kinda underestimated the altitude and my wife and I got absolutely hammered -

All my guitar playing life there have been things I would like to have but can’t afford. That doesn’t mean the guitar is bad, I just can’t afford it. I can’t state strongly enough that I think the price is ridiculous but cmon this is a sweet axe and Jimmy truly looked and sounded amazing with his 1275 -

I gotta say the price tag is ridiculous but I’m a little bit surprised that none of us even seem really horned up by this thing?? Led Zep is far from being one of my favorite bands but Jimmy Page is like the patron saint of rock n roll. He has to be one of the greatest musicians of all time and he looked so freakin cool with the 1275. I literally can’t watch the song remains the same without crying because it’s so beautiful. Watching Jimmy play the 1275 is like idolatry. You could call it iconic. Again the price tag is insane but holy **** this looks like a ****ing cool guitar -

I have pretty limited experience, but I think the original style bridge has kindof an important influence on the sound thats not to say the 6 saddle bridge sounds bad, but I think there may be some special Tele magic in the original bridge. I got one of the compensated vintage style bridges and it sounds more Tele like than my 6 saddle Tele -

I didn’t do anything creative and it was so expensive to make a guitar. I swear there is no end to the finishing problems… with that said I’ve got 5 neck blanks ready to go lol. I figure if I make 5 bolt ons maybe I’ll get something right once having a fancy pants R9 is like waking up in silk sheets and you don’t really have much drive to attempt something competitive
