  1. RIP Yo-yo man... I got into them during the revival of their show in the 80's. Not just a talented musician, but on hell of a master of the Yo-yo. I had his instructional video in highschool.
  2. I WISH, and good eye. But no it was a WA Centavo... Recently parted with it and a handfull of other dust collectors.
  3. So last spring I was going throuhg my closet and decided it was time to clean house, and whilst perusing the internerds for other gear I stumbled across a listing for a CS R8. so that saturday I went over to the store that I saw the online listing for with a carload of gear and traded in a bunch of stuff and came home with it. went back a few weeks later with some more stuff and found a FSR 03 HRD in Tan/Wheat. So, if you please, let me to also introduce y'all to Miss Amanda Jones and her Dirty Brown Box!
  4. I would like to offer a definitive answer to those folks who are on the fence about purchasing a 50W 350-400nm range UV lamp in an attempt to fade nitro. I got mine courtesy of Buddy Bezos for under 50 bucks USD. It's branded QUANS. This thing works so good, as a test I put my transitions lenses in front of it and they darkened up quicker than Zaphod's peril sensitive sun glasses spotting a ravenous bugbladder beast on Traal. This shot is from my 2022 CS R8 in Bourbon Burst. It has been tanning for approximately a few hours a night a few days a week since the beginning of November. I was initially using a 4 watt full spectrum reptile bulb with little to no discernable progress. But She spent 4hrs under the new lamp last night, and I think that the photo evidence speaks volumes. So anyone says modern historical finish won't break down under UV is full of nonsense.
  5. Been a while since I last posted here, but as I was lurking I came across this post and thought I would chime in. I have a 2022 R8, and despise the instability of the period correct Kluson tuners. I am going to be replacing them with the direct retrofit Kluson Revolution keystone locking tuners (Non collared). Less wraps , better ratio. Plus faster string changes if ya pop one mid set.
  6. You'll be needing one of these as well I guess.... 😁
  7. Had a BFR EBMM with SS frets, Traded it in on a R8. I found them to be brighter, and not offer the "traction" of slightly tarnished standard NS fret wire.
  8. Well first lemme say it good to be back on the forum. Second, I recently cleaned house and did some horse trading of some higher end bits of gear I had, and brought this home. one owner case kept 2022 R8, Mostly plain top with a very subtle flame in it. This is THE ONE, it's and absolute joy to play, it makes all the proper vintage correct LP noises through a tube amp. I have never owned this nice of an instrument....EVER. Hard work and persistence pays off, I have been lusting after what IMO is a proper Les Paul since I was 14-15 years old. 😍
  9. I used to roll around here back a few years ago, got away from the forums, and social media in general. But Now the proud owner of a CS R8, and a recent return of my junior to the "Guitarsenal" I decided to mosey back over. See Y'all out there!
