fireflyva
Hello to all - I'm selling a 1962 - 63 Hercules amplifier with a 15" speaker. However, several people have asked me what kind of speaker is in it. All I can tell is that the speaker has a red sticker which says "Ultrasonic made expressly for Gibson." Can anyone tell me what kind of speaker it is? Whatever it is sounds great with a bass guitar. Thank you I've attempted to attach a picture but I can't seem to get it to work although it says it is there!
fireflyva
OK - I tried resizing the picture and posting again. Hopefully you can expand it. Thanks again.
Kaiser Bill
To me it looks like either a Jensen or an Eminence although Eminence are usually black in color. Typical for that era I think.
Rootboy
Based on another GA 60 and a GA 100 (same electronics repackaged as a piggyback amp) that have identifiable speakers that look exactly same as your, you most likely have a Fisher(!) model S6065. The other identified speakers were both manufactured in the 41st week of 1962 (241) and have Fisher's EIA code of 1056. I don't suggest you remove the Gibson label, though beneath it is most likely the info, like in this picture.
