J-185 EC price question

I have a Gibson J-185 EC that I bought in 2004 and I have a question about resale value. I contacted Gibson to get information about the uniqueness of this guitar and was told that it was part of a special order made by Fuller's Vintage Guitars here in Houston. There were 12 guitars made for this order and, as far as I can tell from my correspondence with the factory, they are the only J-185 guitars made as such. Ther fret board has custom inlays and the headstock has an inlay of an angel playing the harp. I will try to get pictures up when I get a chance. My question is, does this increase the value of the guitar? Obviously, value depends on what the buyer is willing to pay, but I am curious to know the thoughts of those that love guitars. I am considering selling the guitar and would like to know the reality of it's value. Thanks for your comments.

I'm making a guess here, having sold 46 instruments on ebay...

You might list it and have it sell for $2300 or so, or it might not get a bid over $1400. Then you could relist it a month later and have the opposite happen. If there's a couple of guys looking for a nice J-185 you win, if not, you lose.

As for the Custom features I bet they add $100-$200 to the final sale price.

That's my guess. I have put a good instrument on and had it really die, few bids, no luck. Wait a month and re-list and sell for big money.

I think this is a good time to sell- people get Christmas money.
