  4. Ive not gigged for about 6 months. Lost motivation. But then i pickedup one day my J-150 and started playing with my Harmoniser and core parts of a song came out. Vers, pre, chorus, chords, rhythm. So Im now aiming to finish it on garagaband and put other instrucments around it. Its first song I actually quite liked what i wrote. Wil share when ready.

  5. I'm not working on anything new at the moment. Instead I'm trying to improve the vocals on recordings of my original songs. A very time consuming, but rewarding project. Lars

  6. In a grand co-writing experiment (which is more fun than the law allows) with the guy that recorded and produced my CD project a couple of years ago. Going thru our toolboxes at our first working session, we shared odds and ends we both had laying around. On my way home, one of his lines rattled around in my head, and by the time I made it home, a verse had been born: “I wrote a blank check for your love when your eyes first met mine They say you can’t buy happiness but I could go broke tryin’” We met a couple of times since and eased out most of the rest—we’re 95% there, I think. As I said, it’s a fine experiment, so we plan to continue. And that’s what I’m doing these days.🤓

  9. This would require thinking a bit ahead which is not one of my strong points. Generally with me it is some song that for whatever reason is stuck on my head. The latest is "Electric Chair Blues." Probably will end up being a mish mash of Bessie Smith and David Bromberg's versions.

  10. Very sorry to hear this, only think of good times when I think of Eddie Money. Rest in peace.

  11. Largely a standard early '70s J200 with a few quirks. As always with Gibson, in the early '70s specs were all over the place. If it was a second, it would be stamped with a "2". The S likely denotes a special order, hence the French heel and unusual marquetry. I've seen the multi-piece backs on this era of J200 previously, such as this one: https://reverb.com/price-guide/guide/1223-gibson-j-200-1969-cherry-sunburst . The joint alignment you mentioned is the binding join at the heel that is slightly out, the centre seam of the back and the heel seem to line up well. I think it's a beauty. Grant Nicholas (former Feeder frontman and solo artist) has an almost identical one which he bought in a pawn shop on a US tour back in the '90s. I sat in on a jam with him a few years ago and it sounded absolutely gorgeous. Just warm and balanced and perfect. He said that every hit song he'd ever written had been penned with that J200 in his lap. If you like this one, go for it.
