  1. I only have a couple; most of my guitars are either Gibson or Martin but I have these two plus a Tele downstairs:

  4. Epi Texans were pretty much a long scale J50. Same non-scalloped bracing, ADJ saddle bridge, nut width and such as Gibsons. I came within a hair of buying a '58 Texan a few years back which was a leftover Epi French Heel neck grafted onto a J50 body. But me being me I dawdled a day longer than I should have. You might think I would have learned to be more decisive. But Nah.

  6. Will that spot age now that it's open? Will it eventually fade and be less noticeable? Just curious.....

  7. Ok then! Let me know first when and if you decide. If you come back to the US...whenever that day comes again...fly into Florida with it and dinner and drinks are on me to celebrate! Be safe!

  8. @inlikeflynn: thanks for your interest. i am tending towards keeping it for now. i have to cull my herd of guitars a bit (wife is sick of the cases, lol), but am attached to this one. let me think about it a bit. Either way I have the Stars & Stripes at my place in Asia at the moment (hanging with its "family" - see picture). was going to bring it back to the US later this year (travel permitting) so its tricky now. If i do decide to sell ill let you know and also post here. THANKS

  10. Yes I believe that's the same stuff. I use it to clean tools that were used to apply concrete sealer. It's a strong cleaning chemical, be careful with any painted , lacquer, or sealed surface. It does evaporate very quickly. I would use just a drop to see what it does to the surface. I've never seen a small container like that, I only see it for sale in 1 gallon metal cans, so at least you won't have a gallon jug sitting around. No need for a lot of thanks....that's why we are all on here, to help. I can use a lot of help to learn to play my guitars! I just hope it works......Bill

  11. Thanks I’ve been thinking kinda the same thing with the Ric. I’m torn cause I love everything about it except the neck and that really deters me from wanting to grab it most of the time As always I wish you could come over and check out the guitar yourself. Which reissue had you tried? I’m really trying to focus on improving my playing with this guitar. So far it’s working great in that I feel like I’m making small steps forward which is significant for me since I’ve felt a bit stagnant. Just trying to force myself to learn songs that I know are too hard for me where I’m

  13. Ceptorman, I really don't know how to thank you for your ideas. 😎 I will try to ask in that section of the Forum and, meanwhile, I could buy Xylol/Xylene. Is this the substance you mean? https://www.ebay.it/itm/XILENE-50ml-Xylol-solvente-x-Canada-Balsam-balsamo-microscopia-entomologia/162998987042?hash=item25f37f2922:g:uzYAAOSw~7le~RTk If so, it's cheap and above all it's a small amount: it might be perfect I won't fail to inform you about the news. πŸ™‚ Thanks again, Lexicon

  17. gnappi can indeed tell you quite a bit about it. That's a great ES-330 '59 reissue you have there. Not sure where you get the "hand made at Memphis Custom Shop" from, as there was never any Custom Shop in Memphis. Gibson did say some really misleading things, though. Here is a nice review on it: https://www.sweetwater.com/insync/hands-on-review-gibson-memphis-1959-es-330-historic/
