  1. I have had several guitars with Gibson and Epiphone P90's, I prefer the Epiphone P90 Pro's over Gibson. To me they sound better and are not as badly effected by 60 cycle hum. Also it is likely I will reverse the magnetic polarity on the neck PU so I get hum-cancelling with mid switch position and this easier to with Epiphone P90's, I have done this a few times before..

  2. Not to go off on a tangent - but my wife has the predecessor - the Subaru TriBeCa. You will find it is as close to a perfect vehicle as you can imagine. Congrats.

  3. I just bought one of these a couple of days ago from Music Zoo. I have been trying to find one I could afford for a long time, original or re-issue. I was very pleased to get this one for 449 with free shipping to Hawaii. This one also has full sized CTS pots and a C profile neck like my new 339. The 2009 Gibson Custom Shop version disappeared very quickly and the price kept going up. Currently this USA version is selling used for around 3k. My Wilshire should be delivered in about a week..

  4. Howdy Folks!!! I hope all of you have been staying safe and all that jazz. I picked up two more guitars last week and they're both great little axes. I have a quick question about distance jamming: One of my best friends was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer and he's been going through some serious chemotherapy over the last few months and he's starting to feel much better since the diagnosis. Well he wants to come over and jam with me and he likes playing my guitar and just jamming with people in general. I have a large enough jamming room 1200 square feet with a drum-set , full blown PA and everything setup and ready to plug in. The main concern is making sure the guitars he's going to play is wiped down with disinfectant wipe, and I want to make sure it doesn't hurt the finish. Or should I polish the guitars with the Gibson stuff 72 hours ahead? We will all be wearing masks to make sure he's protected.

  5. So I finally took the plunge and purchased a Brand New Gibson SJ 200. It arrived today, I am pleased. I've been playing since I was 10 years old, but after loosing 3 fingers on my chord hand in an accident in 1996 I thought my playing days were over.. They were able to reattach my middle and ring finger though I've no feeling in those fingers. Anyway thought I was done playing, so I stowed my guitars, and my ambition for 25 years. I Retired 2 years ago, and needed something to focus on and decided to pick up playing again. At 60 with a lot of free time I was able to dedicate myself, and Im now a better player than I was pre accident. I have a Taylor 324ce, and a 410ce, and thought I had the best, but this new Gibson SJ 200 produces fantastic tones, and records like a dream. Glad to finally have a Gibson of my own, and Im glad to be joining this forum. Thanks

  6. Got a Mesa Mini-Rectifier 25. Mint condition. And I really like it! 2 Channels, all tube, FX Loop, and a few litte switches that do different stuff. Each channel can be set to either 25 or 10 watts individually. Found this one on Reverb for less than half the price of a new one. So of course, I had to get it. Came with a bag/case too. Sounds superb!

  7. Hi all, I just bought a new 2020 60th anniv. 1960 v1 from an authorized Gibson dealer. I was very surprised to see I received serial number 0 0008. Is this as big a deal as I think it is for future value and collecting? Thanks in advance. This is my first really high end guitar so I am a bit of a newbie to the collecting side of things.

  8. I went to the doctor. She wants me to do the chemical peel on my head and my forearms and backs of my hands. She told me I'd look pretty rough for a couple of weeks. I told her I already look pretty rough - I don't need to look any rougher! My arms are pretty hairy, and she said I'd have to shave my arms before starting the chem peel on my arms. A couple of years back, I met my daughter, son-in-law, and 4 year old granddaughter at their place in the New Mexico mountains. We were talking about the local wildlife, and bears were mentioned. My granddaughter said that my arms were hairy like a bear's. I told her that this is America, and I have a right to bear arms. She didn't get it. My daughter and son-in-law just groaned.

  9. Very nice. You know your way around a guitar much better than I. I get nervous and hope I don't screw it up? She is a beauty though. Thanks for sharing with us all.

  13. I never saw them? Actually I shopped on line & it was between the Forester & the Ascent. The Kia Telluride was also in the contest but she didn't like the Kia name. She kept trying to change my mind. Yeah, I never even heard of the Tribeca. I'll have to take a look but it's all done now. The plates for my Saturn Vue were about $40.00 and Insurance was really cheap. So what are these plates going to run now? If she wasn't so insisting me getting a new car, I'd still have that Saturn.

  14. I think you were bad this year and its coal. Although I worked for Norfolk Southern at their coal pier in Norfolk and coal is not as heavy as it looks.

  17. Thanks. I have a set up where I run my amp heads into a splitter, with one line going to a 1x12 Bugera cab (Turbosound speaker which sounds great) and the other to a Hughes and Kettner 1x10 with a Celestion Ten 30. Both cabs have quite different sounds and I like switching between both with different guitars and amps.

  18. These picks arrived a little late, but I was very keen to try them. I used Chicken Picks before. They are my favourite pick material* but the designs never suited me that well. Now they have new design (called Bermuda III P) with pointed tri-corners. Still a little smaller & lighter than I prefer, but I can adjust. These are the best picks I've discovered since V-Picks. They are perfect for alternating picking. I took one straight out the pack & found it effortless to whizz about the CoolZ fingerboard. * Whatever the material is, its hard. Also it retains its satin texture after reshaping (yes I do this a lot) and normal heavy use. This means it wont take a 'shine' so no chirps when it touches the strings. There is a minimal white noise at all times which I find ideal. I used to think these were American. Maybe because the default pricing on website is in $. They are however made in Europe and dispatched from the Netherlands. They might even replace the (V) Psycho as preferred. Not very suitable for strumming though!

  21. 2009 Gibson Custom Shop Epiphone Wilshire 62 Re-Issue The Gibson Custom Shop Wilshire, with the symmetrical body, represents what could possibly be built at the Qingdao facility to re-introduce a Gibson/Epiphone design that was produced in 59 and it fits in an SG case .

  24. The hum cancelling is only in the center position; it actually still sounds really good. Remember you still have 2 "pure" P-90 modes by selecting the rhythm or treble positions. I think this is a better alternative than replacing the P-90s with humbucking replacements. If you can't stand the quiet, you can always change it back! :)

  25. It really did, and what made things even more tragic his 22 year old son Cruz was found dead in his dorm by Mike and his mom this past October when they hadn't heard from him in three days. Basically half his family gone in a matter of two months. So we are in direct support of Kirsten his wife and his other son Jesse..... 2020 has been unreal for sure.
