  2. I know a guy who bought a house not long ago. 10% down & monthly pmts on a 30 year mortgage.. He had the best Tax deduction an average guy can have.. The pmts he made over the next few years didn’t come anywhere near the cost of the house... He just sold it at a $350,000.00 profit after paying off the balance he owed on the mortgage... He is married so that is a Tax free Capital Gain.. Credit used intelligently can be leveraged to be a very profitable means to wealth! There's a Mexican Restaurant in another town we haven’t been to for a while. We thought we’d go & hoped they survived the pandemic.. when we got there they had added 30, or so, outside Tables to stay open.. Now inside dining is allowed & the inside was packed. The outside dining area was also packed.. They expanded their business! There are tons of stories like these.. Guitar manufacturers had the best year they’ve ever had during the pandemic.. Record sales.. Gibson already went BK & survived... They seem to be selling Guitars as fast they can build them.. They can’t build them fast enough! There is no doubt this past year has been difficult for many.. But, there is always a way.. You might have to relocate, re-educate, change professions or whatever it takes.. To stand in one place & say the sky is falling, the sky is falling doesn’t get you anywhere..

  4. If you upload the photos to a site like flicker or Imgur then copy and paste the link in your post you will have no issues with file size. Otherwise there’s not much help we can give you based on what you’ve provided.

  6. But, psychiatrists can be real helpful. For example--- I used to be terrified to answer the phone. It would ring and I'd hide under the bed or in a closet. But then I went to a psychiatrist to help me with that and it helped! I'm no longer afraid when the telephone rings. In fact, I'll answer the phone whether it rings or not! Whitefang

  7. I can't access their website due to always getting "403 ERROR" notification. Much as I can gather, they supply products to help with ED, which has nothing to do with dementia. So you're right in telling him to bugger off JDGM. Whitefang

  8. seems like they stay in business by finding new owners. ( just so long as they make good product I care not )...

  9. Nope. And you don't even have to be black to PLAY the blues. And that guitarist is ELVIN BISHOP, a decade before he fooled around and fell in love. Whitefang

  10. The Stimulus Trillions we are spending on top of budget over-runs and proposed budgets that are $6 Trillion - will result in something more painful than an inflationary speed bump.

  11. I would also add that it is important to really self-develop so that it has versatility. point of view. And understand what the truth is. Many people form an opinion owl solely on that source, book or TV show. Well, for example https://graduateway.com/essay-examples/global-warming/ a collection of articles about global warming. You ask, How can I understand where the truth is and where it is not. I will answer you. Read at least ten essays. And believe me, the answer will come by itself. You can separate the truth yourself. This is called critical thinking.

  12. I believe volume and cutting through are two different things. To cut through, i feel your best bet is to have a different sound - if you're playing with a couple other hog guitars, maybe go maple... or said by someone above, switch instruments altogether try a banjo or mandolin.

  13. Pretty funny FYP... similar but not the same, my father was saying 'geeze i think the snow looks really white this year, do you think everyone staying home from COVID cleaned up enough pollution to do that?' After thinking for a second, i replied back, 'maybe, but I'd be willing to be it was your cataract surgery that made the difference'.

  15. There is a standard SG for $1329 with the pickups 490. Or there's the '61 SG reissue with the BB pickups for $1800. I'm wondering whether it's worth the money for the slight variation in sound between pickups. And then there's the traditional LP sunburst for $2300. The more I read about all three, the more I can't decide. I don't live in a large metropolitan area so it's not easy for me to try out a load of models. Youtube has been helpful. I know for a fact that I don't want the neck style of that 74 Guild SG but I don't know what neck style it had. It only had one volume and one tone adjuster. No matter what description I read of any style of electric Gibson, they all sound indispensable. I suppose that if I go with a '61 SG and I want to change the pickups later from a BB to a 490, I can always do so, right? I can only see that happening if I wind up getting that Merle Haggard Telecaster later in life. BTW, I'm middle aged so it's not like I have the rest of my life ahead of me. I dig the warm sound of a Gibson. I also love the neck and feel of the Strat but my son already has one of those. Gibson makes the most sense to me. All you guys' advice has been terrific. It's so cool that this forum exists.

  16. Good words, Buc, and good to hear from you! .........We were out at my mom and dad’s gravesite yesterday. I went by there about 6 weeks ago for a few minutes and left picture frame that encased a list of things my dad did during WWII. Midway, Battle of The Coral Sea, and how he had his eardrum blown-out. I figured with the rain and wind we’ve had that it would be washed-away. Anyway, it was there along with a approx 5 ft tall flag pole with a small US flag and someone had put a rock on the picture frame to hold it in place with a note in a plastic sandwich bag. The note said, “Thank you, Sir, for your service!” I find that very cool and gratifying. My dad was so damn proud of his service and we buried him wearing his Navy hat. That generation is shrinking everyday. We could sure use their strength, integrity, and determination now.

  17. Expensive, you say, but maybe I could've saved a lot of time and trouble with a quick adjustment to the EQ via bluetooth, and gotten something like this:

  22. well, you Americans must be much smarter than many Australians who seem to look at home equity as exactly like cash in the bank - "hey Darlene, the housing market just went up again and I always wanted that (Dodge Ram/Harley/swimming pool/kitchen/Les Paul ...). Wow, we must be such smart investors…lets refinance!!" M-E, very true - the guitar is available to almost anyone at a decent price for performance, and you can pay more for somewhat better quality if you wish. OP's question could be asked of many well made status products - "how does Rolex stay in business when I can buy a $10 watch at a gas station or just use my phone to tell the time?"

  24. I agree with you. is it bad to maintain the conservation of nature? and disregard politics. I didn't want to offend anyone, it's just that my brother lives in Australia, and he writes to me that they have serious climate problems.

  25. In South Texas we had two nights of 15 degrees and a foot of snow. I guess that's why the 'follow the science experts' re-branded "Global Warming" to "Climate Change".
