Well, if anybody is still interested, I have owned a '59 (S-FON) J45 for over 30 yrs with a 1 9/16 nut... Great guitar! Plays, looks (cherry sunburst), and sounds terrific 👍! Had some rough treatment before I got it, but it's good now! 😊

If it is truly a Gibson J45, the U on the FON # would make it a '57. They started with Z in '52 and worked backward...

Mine is a '59 cherry sunburst that I've had since '88... My 1st one was brand new in '65, but was stolen... So when I found this one in need of some serious repair, I took the plunge and went to work on it. Nowadays it's a beautiful picture and sound, even though not stock anymore... price you pay for a great guitar, I guess!🎶
