I played a J15 a while back and loved it. It was a great guitar. I just got a Hummingbird though and that's my bucket list guitar. Had they not sold the J15 a couple years ago when it was on clearance for $1100, it would have been mine.

I bought a used '14 for $950 sold it about 4 months later for $900.  I played one in a GC that I liked, but the one I had did nothing for me. That one in GC was brand new at $1299. Guess I should have gotten that one. I would probably still have it.

Here is the J-15 I had.

  2. Just ordered Sheik Yerbouti and One Size Fits All. Amazon says Sunday it will be at my house. I also ordered 2 sets of String Joy strings in my gauge. 11-52. I got one of each flavor (phosphor bronze and 80/20 bronze). The one thing cool about them is you can get a totally customized set and they cost exactly the same. They are $14 a set though. So if they sound just like Martin strings I won't get them ever again.

Finally got my J15 about 2 weeks ago. Love the hell out of it. What's the difference in BUILD and overall quality btwn the J15 and the J45?

J-15 is made of walnut back and sides and J-45 is hog back and sides. The necks are made of different woods too, J-15 is maple and the J-45 is hog. That is all I know the experts can tell you more. I'm sure they are giving the J-45 more attention than the J-15 due to the $700 or so price difference.

Why is the J-15 with a natural top $150 more that the same model that is painted?

I suggested the idea to Gibson USA. I don't know Mark. I am not in the loop.  I just play them. I'm happy with the Modern. I have owned several Les Paul's over the past 40 years. I was so happy with this new one, I just wanted it to be the very best and innovative guitar that has been introduced in years. I believe the modern is one of the best Les Paul's ever made. I know many people will disagree, but I really don't care much, because they will not ever be allowed to touch mine LOL  Belly cut, I'm getting fat !

I don't know Mark either. I've owned 3 or 4 LP's. Here is the last one I owned. I bought the body and neck stripped and bought all the stuff I wanted and assembled it. The body and neck were from a 2014 Traditional Pro II.

I saw the doc Strange Powers about Stephin Merritt from The Magnetic Fields recently. That was very interesting if you're a fan of his, or a fan of quirky people.

I just watched the trailer for it,  if its on NF I will check it out.

I have seen and listen to The Residents. Different and unusual music doesn't scare me. I love Zappa.

I watch music doc's about people I have never heard of or care about. I watched the Taylor Swift one cause see is easy on on the eyes. She's a little whiner.

She said when she came into the music business she shut up and did what she was told. Yeah cause when you start out  your a f-ing nobody like everyone else when they start out. You don't come into the business as the CEO.

I tried to watch the Linda Ronstadt one. I heard it is really good. But I couldn't find it in a search on NF.

Yeah its not. It was run on CNN New Years Day. We DVR'ed it and it got erased. It will come out sooner or later.

    Nice Raiders sticker ... 😎

Nice. Growing up in San Jose all my teams are from that area. I was a Warriors fan when they were getting the sh!t kicked out of them and they are this year. I was a Raiders fan when they moved to LA and will continue to be now that they are in Vegas.  If Brady goes to the Raiders I will not watch one Raider game next season.  The Sharks are not doing good this year. Over the past few years the A's have been doing good. My first A's game was in 1979.  I saw Vida Blue pitch against Phil Niekro, I think he as an Atlanta Brave.

It took me a while to come to like Lumpy Gravy.  I eventually came to appreciate it ... sort of.

I don't even know how to describe what it is. Two guys talking about cars and pigs and ponies and orchestral weirdness. I've made it through maybe  2 times total.  Uncle Meat 180 g vinyl came today.

  10. I think I can go on line and get just about anything engraved on a TRC and slap it on any Gibson or Epi.  And I can order it at 2am in my underwear with a glass of scotch in my hands. There have been limited runs of Epi's made in the states since they got outsourced. But like I said if that V does not say made in USA then there is your answer.

Yes, they do.  Fortunately, I made a big paper goods trip second week of February, so we are good.

The TP aisle is fully stocked, with pallets at either end chock full of sh1t paper goodness.

Since I've been the shopping guy for ten years, and since retirement I'm in the store a couple times a week because I can cook all the time, I know what it costs to live.

It isn't the shortage the wee todds on social media are mouthing off about.  It's the gouge.  Every pack, every brand, all of them, in the two shoprites I go to, all are at TWICE what they were a month ago.  Already.

Fukking christ, already.  goddammit we absolutely loathe living here.

Those blue bears in the commercials are funny.
