Tribute bands are constantly at the 2 larger (1200 -1500 people) venues in Norfolk and Richmond. They are what they are. I would rather not see fake Zeppelin or fake Tom Petty ect. I'm not even really a fan of established bands doing cover tunes unless you are a bar band. If your 5 albums into a career and you have to put 3 cover tunes on an album like Van Halen did on Diver Down your either lazy or partied too much and don't have enough material for an album.

Is he some forum legend?

I though Gibson's out of the USA were warrantied for one year. How long have you had it. The last date I see your talking about is an '18.

I have dealt with depression most of my life. I have found that standing right in front of a stack at full volume and playing some power chords blasting my body, but not my head, too much ear damage over the years. Believe it or not I actually do this. Also screaming at the top of my lungs also helps...
Weed works too.

The problem with Goldilox is that Ty starts it and they let the audience sing it, so it usually devolves from there. I hope they do it all the way through themselves.

That is what it says on the setlists I've seen (audience sings). I am a sh!tty singer so I usually leave it to the pros to take care of. Oh well its gonna be a killer night. I'm gonna take a toke or 5 and be drinking as Chris Stapleton sings Tennessee Whiskey.

No Glove No Love.
Worked from Midnight to 5am. The Vice President came to our work establishment today. Glad I was already off and did not have to deal with that sh!t show He went to other buildings on the facility. I'll bet getting through the gate was a blast this morning. Now I'm back at work. Some stuff broke so we can't test right now. At least I don't have to stay here till 5am. Think I'll go get sushi for dinner.

Oh Man. Kings X. Ty is just one of the greats. If they do Goldilox please bawl like a baby for me. That's one song I'd play 5 gigs to get to the 6th and do that one once. I'll Never Grow Tired Of You also. What a bunch them guys are, them first three records were just earth shaking. Doug not singin as well as he once did, but he's at least 10 years older than me.

I rocked Gretchen Goes To Nebraska last week on the way to work. Gonna listen to Dogman this week.

Got tix on Friday to see Jason Isbell in June in Williamsburg, VA outside (for the first time) at The De Witt Museum. This is gonna be about time 8 or 9 for me for Jason. And in April I am seeing Tommy Emmanuel in Virginia Beach, and also in April I am going to meet up in Knoxville, TN with my best friend who I was stationed in the Coast Guard with to see King's X. I know drinking whiskey and acting the fool is on the agenda as well. Were gonna Uber it everywhere in the evening so we don't end up in jail.

A Custom Shop EDS-1275 and workers and QA guys missed that. Shameful. That is like a 6k guitar, right, It better be PERFECT.
You better be rocking Xanadu on that and not the Olivia Newton-John kind.

Since I bought my J45-TV months back, I have had a few setup issues. First off when I got it, the saddle was too low, and the neck had way too much relief. I think the prior owner must have tried to lower the action, shaved the saddle too much, encountered buzzing, cranked the truss rod to compensate, as well as switch to medium strings (13s). My luthier straightened the neck to the proper relief, and installed a new saddle. It got me 90% where I needed to be, but I still had some minor buzzing on the first fret, on the B and high E.
Well, I remembered that I ordered a Colosi shim kit with veneer and ebony strips years ago. I think I gave the ebony strips to one of our forum members here, but still had the veneer. With a razor blade, I traced out and glued a thin shim to my saddle, and strung it up with new fresh strings yesterday. MAN I have this J45-TV dialed in! I am a very happy camper. I have a 3pm gig this coming Sunday at a nice pub, and am so tempted to take it.
I probably won't though; I still want to try out my new J45 Studio - which is also set up great, and sporting a new Holter Pick Guard (2nd from the left).
By the way, the LG-2 knockoff on the far left is a Farida OT22. I am bringing it down as a gift for my new neighbor down the Jersey Shore... Bob lives there year round, found out I played guitar, and we jammed a few weeks ago. It will be a nice step up (with a proper easy to play setup) from his twenty year old Yamaha. Then I will remove that wall hanger; I will be a Two Gibson One Martin man...
Happy President's Day.
I own a D-15M. What is written on the fretboard?

Indeed. At the end of the day a guitar with a headstock repair is just a broken guitar. There are tons out there that aren't.
-
One is $500 the other is $2000. Play both and you will see and know why the price difference. My brother in law had an Epi. Its worth what he paid for it. I've owned real LP'S. There worth it if you like them. I'm done with electrics but the ones I've had are were good.
-
Plus it was 600 used. If you can live without binding they are a bargain.

Coil taps a plus. Junk neck break repair a minus and no case another minus. So at a net the whole deal is a minus.
-
I owned an SG special. I liked it better than the standard I owned.

Well they haven't broke. Yeah I just dipped them a few times in a small vat of LN2 then the just came up to room temp. And like I said they just sound like strings. They look no different maybe a bit less shiny.

I'm just a dumb electrician and I know we make liquid nitrogen in the plant next to the wind tunnel I work at. We inject liquid nitrogen into the tunnel to cool it down to -250 F for a lot of the testing we do on the models of planes and wings and right now there is some model of a rocket they are testing for a planed trip to one of the moons of Jupiter, I think. Whenever a tour comes through they have a dewer (thick plastic bucket) filled with the stuff and we do demos with it. I though it would be cool to dip my strings in it. I've eaten cheese its dipped in liquid nitrogen. There cold and make your breath foggy.

Thanks,I don't have it yet because I bought it from a GC store in Texas and they shipped it to a store near me in Minnesota. It is scheduled to arrive tomorrow but I might not pick it up then as the weather will be 18 below zero . Better to let the box defrost in the backroom of Guitar Center for 24 hours than risk damaging the finish.
Good call. Test drive it there and if its poo you don't even have to take it out of the store. And if its good to go its a NUGD.

If there different than regular ones and not on Gibson's site to buy, then someone has to rip them out and sell them on ebay or reverb.
