  1. Hi All, Back in 1979, I purchased a Les Paul KM new in the OEM Protector Case in Manhattan. Other than the pick up selector not resting in Rhythm position solidly since Day One, the instrument's been perfection embodied. Okay, nearly perfection. The tuning machines have begun slipping some. Fortunately, the good people over at Grover shipped a reissue replacement set spec to fit the same cutouts. However, now, one volume pot is outputting only while positioned in the top half of its range. A luthier pal said it's time to replace. Question is: Are these 300s or 500s? And, as opposed to replacing the pot, is there any way to resuscitate it? Thanks in advance for your help - and a musically inspiring New Year to all. Best, David
