  1. Certainly is. Other than the longer scale length, longer body length, narrower waist, bound neck, original and fretted 1.802" nut width, non-pickguard, and not being a "rich man's guitar" (your term). But it is a 12 fret mahogany guitar that says Gibson on the headstock
  2. Does the first statement cancel the second statement?
  3. Then you absolutely must change your name to Mean Mr Mustard. Keep the avatar pic. It suits you well.
  4. and everyone gets a ribbon.
  5. Yes, her. Is that a thing, or is Smooth Pop/Rock-Schmaltz a category you just invented?
  6. Ha ha, you saw Quaterflash. I guess it was the 80's, you had to be there. (but she could blow a mean sax)
  7. The point is still made. Anything else would be moot.
  8. This is a Gibson site and most people that come here own and like Gibson acoustic guitars, and they are allowed to say whatever problems they encounter with their guitars. Purchasers of new Gibsons have a warranty. But when you already like something, you will naturally want to discuss any and all issues, but it's probably not going to be a deal breaker.
  9. Good to see that the people here that like Gibson acoustic guitars are not so drunk on the Gibson Kool-Aid that they are unable to comment when they wonder what was Gibson thinking. Many of those old enough to be long time followers of Cat Stevens probably have disposable income for this guitar. Wake up, little Susie- say what you will about the look of the guitar, call him a sensitive singer-songwriter, but Cat Stevens choice of guitar may have made more people stop, look, and listen.
  10. Unfortunate your first post to be answered by the two Martin fanboys who only troll this forum to snipe at any opportunity. Very possible your guitar was made with a wood selection different from the standard model. Post a photo and maybe someone can give some information
  11. Maybe if you had all of the money you put into that awesome vinyl collection of pre-recorded music you could make some of your own music on some vintage guitar whose attributes could only be appreciated by acoustic cork sniffers who don't want to admit you can have just as much fun on a cheap re-issue.
  12. Very nice song. But were we told that wars made us great? I thank God for all of the brave people who stood up to tyranny and attempts of genocide. All from my country give thanks to the Americans and all it's allies. How ironic is the similar melody of this song to yours. Memorial Day for the United States of America
  13. Very cool. Just like the almost vintage fm bluetooth radio in the foto. https://www-amazon-com-br.translate.goog/PORTATIL-BLUETOOTH-VINTAGE-MADEIRA-RECARREGAVEL/dp/B075LT9PJ3?_x_tr_sl=pt&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=sc You can decide if you want to play old stuff or new stuff
  14. Top sinks when dry damp conditions yields opposite effect. there is an ideal string height over sound hole. you may now be closer to this ideal. one possible factor. measure string height change in damp then dry
  15. The weiner shirt is perfect for he. Never seen more awkward chemistry, those two. The differences in the two models could possibly be less than any two gibson acoustic guitars of the same model.
  16. Things guitar snobs say. Like people who virtue signal saying they have never eaten at McDonald's. Or that they beat a hole in a guitar that someone took care and pride in making, because the guitar is just a tool.
  17. Trolling is another thing. AGF motto is "be nice". Gibson and this forum allows for more than that. Nobody gets killed, but somebody's feelings might get hurt.
  18. Pass some time on AGF- you will see it is like a church social, and this place is like the bar scene of Star Wars Empire Strikes Back
  19. Promotional video no fair. Caused my credit card to attempt to come out of my pocket almost instantly.
  20. Maybe if you do not see it as a job, but rather something you have to/want to do, then, what is there to retire from?
  21. It is difficult for people who have spent decades playing acoustic guitars to relate to those used to easy playing electric guitars. Hopeful you find a good transition acoustic. It is not going to be a slinky electric so do not expect it to be.
