I have a 1971 ES 335 which is all original except for the tuning keys. It has the original case with it that is all beat up so I have bought a new case because such a fine guitar deserves a nice home. The question here is does having the original case even in not so good condition add value to the instrument. I still play it and the new case will ensure that it remains in excellent condition but can I get rid of the old case and not diminish the value of the guitar?
