  1. That's what I'm afraid I might see too.
  2. Well, that's sure worth a try. I can do that on Monday once the wife heads back to work.
  3. So, I got my 2015 LP Jr back from Gibson where I had some mods done on it. When I plugged it in and powered up the amp, I had a nasty hum. The hum seemed to calm down when I touched the metal parts of the guitar. Looked a little further and when I unplug the cable from the guitar, I still had the hum, so not the guitar. I unplugged the other end of the cable from the amp, and it quieted down. So, I thought well bad cable. I took a new cable out of the package and plugged it in to the amp and same problem. Next, I unplugged the cable from the Brand F solid state amp and plugged it into a Brand V tube amp. It was much quieter, but I could still hear it. Now I'm wondering if I could have a grounding issue inside the house, so the wife is stopping at Home Depot on her way home from work for a Klein Tools receptacle tester so I can check out the house outlets. Any ideas in the meantime?
  4. I think these are what you are looking for: https://www.stewmac.com/parts-and-hardware/screws-and-springs/pickguard-screws-for-gibson/
  5. When I worked for a GM dealership back in the 1970s, it was Naptha that we used to clean the grease off the interior of cars.
  6. I agree, I would be sending that one back.
  7. It might. I just isolated a nasty hum here at home. It's being caused by both my fiber modem and to a lesser degree my wireless router.
  8. Yup, I think we're back.
  9. So, Wife and I are starting to empty the house out some looking towards future downsizing. As I had a ton of guitars, I sold off 6 to clear out a rack. Okay, I understand the guitars, but where did I come up with so many amps? I've got a VOX tube, a Crate, two Fenders, a Marshall, and two Peaveys. So that's 7 and I'm betting I'm on the low end of what others have stashed away.
  10. I just looked on Gibson's site. They are already sold out.
  11. Yeah, I would return that one. Now you know why there are so many in the Gibson Reverb Shop.
  12. Most of the usual sources were coming up empty this afternoon.
  13. #1 would probably have to be this one. I bought it new back in 2005 when I was living in Seattle from the Guitar Center in Tacoma, WA. It kind of spoke to me.
  14. Okay I broke down and bought a spare set of tubes for my VOX.
  15. Might be a wakeup call to the tube amp manufactures that they should start a consolidated factory of their own.
  16. Due to Russian invasion of Ukraine and the ensuing embargos, the world is now in a vacuum tube shortage. If you remember, the factory in China that was making vacuum tubes was shut down due to a fire. With no viable sources, Fender is cutting tube amp production in half and anticipate having to go lower, so I'm assuming all the other manufactures will have to follow suit. This also means sources for vacuum tubes to repair existing amps are drying up.
  17. Thanks! First guitar I've had with locking Grover tuners, it took me a moment to figure them out.
  18. Thanks, I've heard that from a few who have them.
  19. https://www.dropbox.com/s/jdw5vpmg7jma6sc/Les Paul Trad Pro V.jpg?dl=0 I just picked up a new Les Paul Pro V at Guitar Center. Now I'm trying to figure out what all it can do with the coil taps, splits, and out of phase settings.
  20. It would happen until the FCC made it illegal because it was obvious they were getting paid a little extra for spinning it twice in a row.
  21. You obviously didn't grow up listening to New York City radio stations!
