  1. Thank for the comments guys, I didn't do it. I did my research on the web last night (I'm not too familiar with Custom Lesters) and came to the conclusion that a Custom is just a "Fancier" standard, in a sense that its premium price its more about the "bling" and less about the tone. They do look killer though, i'll tell you that... specially in Ebony and Silverburst, but after a couple of hours playing my historic today I really realized how good of a guitar it is, from its construction to its natural "harmonic rich" Les Paul tone... anyway, here she is!:
  2. Hello everyone, I would love some advice from you guys. I currently have a 2016 G0 Les Paul which I love, killer guitar... ...as the title suggest I'm a huge 90's rock fan and I mostly play that kind of stuff (Tool, HELMET, Soundgarden, etc.) SO, I came across a very nice almost new 2021 Les Paul Custom in Alpine White (Not my fav color on a Custom, but I'm more of a "tone" over "looks" kind of guy), the owner is looking for a trade and he wants my G0 for it. My main amp is a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier and I also have a 2013 61 Reissue SG. There's no doubt that "The Les Paul Sound" is where I live in terms of tone quest, I specially love a good "Gained up Les Paul tone", I've always found that the G0 is a more vintage voiced guitar and this got me thinking, should I go ahead and trade in my g0? . What do you guys think I could gain/lose if I go ahead with the trade in terms of Value, Playability, overall Tone and Sustain. I'm reading ya...
  3. Sounds great, i'll be in the lookout for one of those SG Classics, i've always heard nothing but great things about those, I think p90's and SG's go like bread and butter, just can't go wrong with that!. As far as the mini humbuckers vs p90 tone, I can tell you that my bird has the midrange punch and the brightness of something that reminds me of a p90'ish experiment but without the hum obviously, it'll be interesting having both the p90 and the mini hum flavor at my disposal, anyway thanks for all the hints and tips!
  4. Thank you all for the great advice, I'm keeping the Tele. Its true, nothing else sounds like a Tele... And I have also realized that I can live with the p90ish tone i get form the mini 'buckers on my firebird 'till i get my hands on a good P90 loaded lester or SG, they aren't too expensive 2nd hand on Reverb anyway...
  5. Yeah... I'd be better saving up for a good Les Paul to add in the future, damn I love P90's though!, thanks for your advise guys!
  6. Hi everyone!, I was wondering if you could help me out on choosing the right Axe for my single coil needs. I'm trying to cover as much sonic spectrum as I can with my guitars, I'm really into 90's Alternative Rock and I run all my guitars through a MESA Mark V with great results... Right now I have a Ted McCarty Limited Edition PRS to cover all my thick humbucker PAF'y stuff , a Gibson Firebird for my bluesy needs and an American Pro Tele for all the sparkly cleans, but recently a friend of mine who loves Tele's offered me his 2018 Les Paul Classic w/P90's in trade for my Tele, as a matter of fact I've already owned that Lester and I loved it, but not sure if I could get Tele cleans on it... what do you guys and gals think?
  7. Yup they're quite an anchor to hold on with your shoulder, mine weights at about 11 lbs. , sustains for days, and if you ignore the hum in a Hi Gain scenario, they sound as badass as full fat Humbuckers. Well I know that people in the forum often compare p90 SGs with Mini hum Firebirds, but what about a full body Lester with p90's, how does it compare to a mini hum bird?
  8. I think I'll save up some money and get a nice bird in the future... anyway here is a pic of my Lester
  9. Haha thanks for the advice!, well I really think that the classic p90 is an incredible guitar, also it is the first Les Paul I have ever had that stays in tune for days!
  10. Hello everyone!, this is my first post here and I hope you guys could help me out on this topic. Well I need some advice and I found that this is the best place to ask for it. Right now I have two main guitars that I love, a PRS Ted McCarty 245 DC (which is a total keeper and my Number 1) and I recently got one of these 2018 Les Paul Classic with P90's to cover more sonic ground. I think the classic with p90's is a great guitar but I'm still dialing it in and fiddling around with it. Recently a buddy of mine fell in love with my Classic, and he's asking me if I would trade my Les Paul for his 2013 Firebird V , I've had Firebirds in the past (in fact the lest one I had was a 2013 V in sunburst), I love those guitars and I pretty much like what the mini hums can bring out. So, do you guys and gals think that this would be a good deal in terms of value, tone and versatility?, I need something that would tackle different tones that I would not get with my PRS (which is my main Humbucker guitar), thank you all!
