  1. He's lived a pretty full life.....even married to his school boy celebrity crush!
  2. I didn't know that....I do know he was close friends with Johnny....does the signature model have the bullet hole in it? (Now we're getting into the "Red Violin" territory!
  3. Ah, Gene Clark! You know, to make a full circle, Marty Stuart plays Clearance White's Tele now!
  4. I had a friend who drove his zero turn off a cliff..... the fire/police finally got him up, but he passed away from his injuries.....BE CAREFUL on those things...especially if you have a cliff in your yard!
  5. Now you're in my neck of the woods! First off....funny you can't even type "DlCK" Clark, (I know...I once tried to refer to "DlCK" Dale). Second, I worked with Paul Revere & The Raiders, and We Five..... would LOVED to have worked with Bo Diddley, but never did.
  6. Beautiful day in NorCal today....supposed to rain tomorrow. I'll do a little work outside today, (relocate a timer for some accent lights on the deck and run a bead of sealer between the walkway and garage wall to keep water out of the garage). That's the plan anyway!
  7. Nurses were standing in the doorway pointing and chuckling when I woke up from my last one!
  8. I think even lead guitar players are amazed at Marty....and Kenny Vaughn is no slouch! One of the very first dates I took my wife on when we first met was a concert with Roger McGuinn & George Carlin, (this was in 1976), and he was amazing. I worked with McGuinn when he was with The Byrds.
  9. I’m with you on this. A signature model is subject to valuation fluctuations…..for instance…..should Chris’ political leanings be learned, his guitars will be worthless to half the people, thereby devaluing it because half the market is lost. Would be analogous to owning a Pete Rose Rookie card, or O.J.Simpson signed football!
  10. I’m a MartyStuart fan too…..I know Chris took over for Paul Martin when he kept. I did take Coe’s arrangement into account….but NO ONE can even carry his lunch pail!
  11. I'm with ya, Dave. When I recorded "Tennessee Whiskey" I kind of blended Chris' arrangement with George Jones'. It came out okay!
  12. I like it... "Smirking Nurses" is PERFECT for a band of old-rockers!
  13. There are worse things, (if that can be believed)..... my doctor said colonoscopies are no longer necessary for me....because if something WERE to be found, I'll die of something else long before it got to be a problem! So.... drink up..... good luck....hopefully the nurses won't be smirking when you wake up.
  14. Ben, they have not provided any new major reservoirs in the state since the 60's. But the population has grown significantly since then!
  15. Rain seems to have let up for a few days.... I think it's supposed to rain again on Sunday. California has been in a drought a few years.....(I contend we don't have a 'water problem' but a 'water storage problem'). Now, the reservoirs are overflowing.... being declared 'a disaster' by our government. So, instead of capturing the water so the citizens of California can have access to water, it's permitted to just run to the ocean.
  16. Well....my mind HAS gotten to the point where I can barely remember my own name from day to day....and ears keep getting bigger and bigger, (and covered in hair)....so I guess you're right!
  17. What does a apiarist have to do with this?
  18. I fell in love with a Doves In Flight as I was looking for a J-200 with natural Maple back & sides. I stumbled on a 2003 DIF with Natural Maple back & sides, (so far, the ONLY one I've ever seen!). Congratz on a great guitar purchase....she'll love it.... and as Em7 said.... she'll have to keep a close eye on it..... guitars tend to get 'lost' while loading and unloading gear. We lost a 1963 Sunburst Strat while loading the van at a Chuck Berry gig we played.... was loaded in the van, went back inside to grab the Bandmaster amp, and the guitar walked away!
  19. WOW! Could be the guitar that interests me in a Gibson Electric!
  20. I had an Ovation 12-String. The rounded back became problematic as my front got more rounded. Played like a RailRoad tie anyway....gave it to my luthier... he robbed the electronics off it, sold the case and threw the guitar away!
  21. I was a sheet metal worker early in my work life, (at Peterbilt). With sheet metal, you cut or drill EVERYTHING!
  22. I'd have more guitars if I had a place to store them.....I promised the wife I"d keep ALL my guitars in the music room.....after playing the J-200 Studio at The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, I got some real GAS for one!
