I too have a 16 Trad my pickups were black when I took off the covers.

Peeled off and played a ton so far. I wound up swapping the 61's for duncan whole lotta humbuckers. Good swap so far.

The guitar player respectfully covers Kossoff... Tone and vibrato very close...Tasty !

Nothing really wrong with the PC's as far as tone wise for me I don't hear a difference, but over the years there are tweaks most players do with their guitars and the PC just makes it more difficult in some ways. A treble bleed is easy to do on a PC just flip it over and add it, changing pot values is another task, I have done it but it would have been easier with no PC.
