  1. Yes, it is made on 7th June 2023, guitar is now resting and being played in a room where relative humidity is 50% πŸ™‚
  2. Can you feel that under your fingernail or finger? or is it underneath the clearcoat? Mine can't be felt at all, it is all shiny and glossy and flush.
  3. There is also a video of that same finish line I have uploaded https://streamable.com/xiukq2
  4. Do you have any images, I am really curious ☺️
  5. Inside all looks solid. So it can't be that outer layer cracked and inside is fine? πŸ™‚
  6. Is this lacquer checking or wood split / crack? thanks
  7. Hello, I got myself nice southern jumbo, brand new, but yesterday I saw this line...could this be a crack in a side of a new guitar ? 😞 😞 When I check inside, I do not see any crack and split(when I look in a hole), only on the lacquer side outside. any experiences? tnx
  8. I think I found and purchased a best Les Paul (Custom) I've ever tried in my life, it is ebony LP Custom 2022.. Plays perfect, sounds killer, definetly a keeper πŸ™‚ But have you ever seen something like this, uneven binding line on Custom Shop level guitar? I find it funny, since it is built perfectly sound wise, setup is perfect, neck angle, all, but this small cosmetic flaw (s) is really strange.. If they just spent 15 more minutes it would be flawless. But hey, now I know what is my unique Les Paul Custom if I ever lose it in sea of other black LP custom πŸ˜„
  9. Checked that, perfectly flat, just as it should be, especially over pickup underneath itd.. So, all is good in that sense πŸ™‚
  10. Yeah, I agree, but I mean, it is just in one corner, that one facing bridge pins, not neck..so it is not on part where strings apply pressure..Underneath is Fishman pickup.. I have same tusq replacement saddle, just wonder if it is worth the effort to sand it down and to replace it..but I think this should be fine then..
  11. Hello guys, I have a question regarding TUSQ saddle in my Songwriter Standard.. One end of the saddle is not perfectly round, I assume from sanding it down by hand(I know tusq saddles are just tiny bit wider than they need to be, when new) so there is one small gap, that you can see in a picture.. This is my first acoustic guitar, I have been playing electrics my whole life, so if you can maybe tell me, does saddle needs to be perfect fit, or this is normal? Can this cause any damage or something to bridge longterm? thanks in advance
  12. I sent message to Gibson warranty service and they told me if dealer confirms that this is crack indeed, it can be shipped and fixed on Gibsons expense at Gibsons european repair center in Nethrlands.. I am not sure is is smart to ship guitar from Croatia to Nethrrlands, especially during the winter see image: https://ibb.co/3dph1X0
  13. Can you post some pics please? I wonder how does it look like. Thanks in advance @JuanCarlosVejar
  14. I spoke to one and he said if he fills that gap(adds CA glue or whatever), that filler will harden, and than next time inlay will crack in other place due to wood expansion and contraction.
  15. @Kwlsky So what do you suggest, just play it and leave the thing alone? πŸ˜„ Maybe crack will get bigger but I will still have inlay in fretboard hahha
  16. Hello everyone, I purchased Gibson Songwriter Bourbon Burst 2021, which has paralelogram mother of pearl inlays, and I see that one of the inlays has crack in it. It is mother of pearl material. My question is, is it something that can expand over time and should I be worried about it? I am not certain but I think I can't feel it under the finger. I understand that mother of pearl is natural product with weaknesses and inconsistencies, and I think it adds character to guitar, I just wonder if this can make bigger problem in the future(cracking all the way, soaking lemon oil when conditioning board, maybe fell out etc)? One more question, are those inlays glued to board with their whole surface? So if it cracks from end to end, it will still remain inside fingerboard since both parts are glued. I can't and don't want to exchange or return guitar since this one is perfect sounding, and awesome. Also I can't send it for warranty fix since I am outside USA. Thank you in advance. https://ibb.co/nsxzxzx https://ibb.co/3SKKstf
  17. Hey guys, I need help finding black, original Gibson P-90 pickguard for Les Paul Classic 2018, like one that came with it.. I tried purchase several different brands of replacement pickguards (WDMusic, Axerus etc) and none fits my LP... I tried to look online, can't find it, Gibson does not retail those.. Does anyone have any contact in Gibson USA repair center to ask for one? I am in Europe, feel like my hands are tied here for this kind of stuff. Thank you in advance.
  18. Is naphta same as Zippo lighter fluid? Is zippo fluid safe to use on nitro? ty
  19. Yesterday I played a show, wearing t-shirt with print of one rock band I like..Long story short, where guitar touched that rubbery print on t-shirt, there are some spots now, like chemical reaction in nitro lacquer..Tried today to remove it with Gibson Pump polish, did not go away..Any advices or this is permanent battle scar? thanks
  20. Hey guys, some news from me... I returned my Classic back to store since it had more than a logo and cracked pup covers problem. It also had huge crack on neck finish under the nut, some huge chips in the binding etc.. I got same one, new one, which I will keep since this guitar is not in production anymore and my retailer does not have any more of it. It is better than previous one, no flaws all around guitar, just one big flaw.. Sloppy binding job on E(bass) side.. I ll post some images.. Can this be tackled by skilled luthier , for example to clean up nibs when there is more 'meat' left then needed , and also can he somehow fix this lacquer peeling off the binding(or I should just play it and let it peel of more all around the binding?) Thanks
  21. Yeah, I think it is smart idea to keep it, dont mind scratch at all, you will create many more. Look what I got on mine(under lacquer) on Classic, would you return that?
  22. Yea, I ll just replace pickup covers when I get my hands on one, and call it a day πŸ™‚ (even that cracks are not visible if you are not looking with flashlight from certain angle).. πŸ™‚ And for the logo, I can live with it as soon as it is not outer damage in the lacquer(which is not).
  23. I am not 100% positive but Tribute used to have thinner and easier body than normal Les Paul(Studio have normal)..
