  1. Looking for some information here. I have a 1962 J-50. I removed the adjustable bridge and replaced it with a set rosewood bridge/bridge plate and bone saddle (sounds way better to my ear). With these modifications, is it now functionally the same as a 1955-1960 J-50 or does the early sixties J-50 have different bracing than the 1955-1960 J-50s.? Thanks in advance.
  2. I am in the market for a Nick Lucas Elite. However, I am having trouble locating one. Anybody have any leads?
  3. Dear All, I am considering acquiring a 2017 SJ100 Walnut. The seller wants $1650 for it. In order to buy it, I would have to get rid of my 1973 J-45. The J-45 I have is a very heavy guitar because of the bracing during that period (they are like tanks) and I want something else with a big sound for chording but that it hopefully a little bit lighter. Any thoughts on price and the replacement decision? I have already seen the reviews on this forum of the SJ100 Walnut and they appear to be general positive but they were from some time ago. As always your insight is appreciated.
  4. Given that nobody has quibbled, I guess I have my answer. I am the proud owner of a hummingbird minus the bling. Thanks.
  5. Dear All, I am new here. I have a 1973 J45. It appears to me that during the 1970s period the J45 (square shouldered) and Hummingbird were identical except for the pearl fretboard inlay, headstock and pickguard. Am I missing something, is there anything meaningfully different during that period with the bracing or other structural features? Again talking about that period only. Thank you, Remy
