  1. Hey all, I’m hoping someone might be able to help me. I’ve got a Challenger II that I want to upgrade with some newer pickups. The problem is, Gibson used slightly larger humbuckers with three screws for the stock pups. This makes it a little hard to stabilize the replacement pups, as there is about a 1/8” gap around the whole thing, causing it to rock top to bottom. I need to figure out how to overcome this, but I’m hitting a wall. Since the Challenger line isn’t that common, I can’t find anything online anywhere that is potentially helpful (other than a post in the Introduce Yourself forum here from 2018). Any thoughts would be appreciated.
  2. I know this is an old topic, but I’m hoping OP might still be around. I’m trying to upgrade the pups in my Challenger II and I’m running into the issue with regular humbuckers being smaller than the holes for the three-screw stock pups. There is a gap of about 1/8” around the new pup (see pics) That OP’s pictures appear to have figured out a workaround. If anyone has any thoughts, they’d be greatly appreciated!
