  1. Does Epiphone make a guitar similar to the Muse only with a slim taper C neck? Or like the Standard 60's LP with a chambered light weight body, or the Modern with a 60's slim taper C neck, or the Custom etc. I would like a les paul guitar with a chambered body (7 to 8 lbs) and the slim taper C neck. Anything in the $500 to $1100 range.
  2. R\Thanks for the tip, I'll give it a try.
  3. I agree- not a good area to place a strap button without some way of re-enforcing the area. However I do agree that the location it is in (on the neck) makes the guitar tilt forward and makes it difficult (at least for me) to play. Gibson informed me that they could move the position, but with shipping, insurance, and other fees it would be fairly expensive. By the way I am talking about the Epiphone ES339 pro. I do the love the sound of the guitar but find it a lot more difficult to play standing than my Stratocaster.
  4. I really wish they had used this design (above picture) on the Epiphone ES 339, I am finding it hard to get used to the the strap position on the neck/body junction rather than on the upper horn. I have no problem when playing while seated. Also think that little bit of extra wood would better balance the guitar between the body and neck.
  5. I was wondering if you are still happy with the new strap connection location. Still looking for a good luthier near my location. Still love the guitar but still find it hard to play standing up. Gibson did say they could move it to the horn but with shipping, insurance and other recommended costs it would be pretty expensive. Hope yours is still working out.
  6. I recently purchased the ES 339 also. I agree with you 100% I find it near impossible to play in a comfortable position. That is also the first thing I thought ; the the strap attachment should be on the horn and the Epiphone should have placed a block of wood in the horn for that purpose ( also thought the 3 position switch should be on the upper part of the guitar and attached to the same wood used for the strap attachment). If I can find a good luthier willing to try your solution that is what I will do, unless I can hire you for the job. Your guitar looks GREAT! Thanks , Leo ljabaa@yahoo.com
