  1. I have another picture of the body that I cannot upload due to size restrictions. Upon closer inspection, it looks like the guitar may have been the subject of a DIY refinish job. It looks like paint seeped under the tape and got onto the binding. I hadn't seen that at first, but a friend on another forum pointed it out.
  2. Thanks for your reply. Most of the ones I have seen seem to have gold-plated tuners, but these look to be chrome (or nickel or whatever -- not gold, in any case). Did they come in silver?
  3. I've been offered this in trade. Seller says it's a 1999 Les Paul Custom. Based only on what I can see in the pictures, I am thrown off by: The three Duncan Performer pickups in black. I am not finding other examples of this combination and color. The white or cream truss rod cover. Again, not seeing anything on similar models. What appears to be a matte black finish. Seller calls it "Bowling Ball Black." Silver pickup rings.
  4. Gotcha. Thanks for the clarification. The asking price is reasonable. Unfortunately, we've gotten 8 inches of snow since Christmas Eve, which would make for a miserable drive. I might brave it for a sweeter deal, but I guess I'll pass for now.
  5. Wait -- are you saying this particular guitar that's for sale is a G-400, or that there is no such model as an SG Standard?
  6. I also see that the pick guard on this one only covers the treble side. The Standard I am looking at has a full-size pick guard.
  7. An Epiphone SG is available in my area. The seller says it was never played. It appears to be a Standard, but the truss rod cover is blank instead of saying SG. I don't have enough experience with Epiphone to know if that is significant. Does anyone know if this is a standard or if it is something else? Sorry if that's a silly question. Most of my experience is with Fender, and it's darn near impossible to keep track of all their changing model names and specs. I'm not sure if it's the same with other companies.
