I’ve played various Gibson’s for many years along with a few Fenders . I’ve now reached a point in life where I want to invest in a special one off custom shop instrument. I have in mind either a 336 or a 356 . Having played the 336 I prefer the size to a 335 . However , I have a question . For some reason the feel and playability of the split parallelogram neck seem to sit with me much easier than the block inlay .
Can anyone shed any light on the reason for this .. is it my imagination ? I get along well with my 339 with dot inlays . But the split ‘Ps’ do seem to speak to me.
The build I’m looking to spec would be a 356 with ebony board and the split parallelogram inlays .. ( The discussions above re the Varitone )
really don’t figure on this spec for me .. I have them on a “ Lucille “ but rarely get past position 1 .
Your thoughts and valued input would be much appreciated .
