  1. Yeah it's defiantly a Nolan era Kalamazoo. 2 SG slabs glues together with a maple top. I was wondering if the pickguard and 3 color sunburst were options. If so it might be something pretty rare or somebody ruined the originality with the cream plastic. I did refret it just last year. The original frets were almost flush with the fingerboard......basically unplayable lower then 6. Luthier said these were the worst he had seen. Thanks
  2. Background - So I have had this guitar for about 10 years. My father bought it used around 1975. He was going to sell it so I matched the price he was offered. It seems a little different then most of the other 71's I've seen. I don't know if these were options or what as information seems to be pretty hard to find (at least for me). First it has a white pickguard and poker chip as well as gold knobs. Also, it seems to have a different sunburst then I have seen on the customs (looks like 3 colors not the standard 2). I have seen those on the standard but not on the custom. I asked my Dad about it and he says he only replaced a knob since one broke. I have been through it. Pots date to mid 71 ish as it's not super clear from whatever source I looked in at that time. I was hoping someone could give me some info into this. Thanks for the help! Sorry about the links. The image upload on this forum is horrible.
