  1. Thank you very much everyone. All of this info is very helpful!
  2. I didn't realize there was a limit on the amount of images you could post so here is the link to the rest of them, https://www.dropbox.com/sh/336yva0vloyq7le/AAAr1EajQ_2jYcJyR7r1z_yXa?dl=0 Appreciate everyone's insight and opinion when you can. Thank you!
  3. Hi all! I bought a 65 SG Junior way back in 2002 from eBay. A friend recently expressed interest in purchasing it but I have no idea what it's actual value is. I checked out the price guide on reverb.com but there are a few things not so common/don't add up. The paint job isn't original and is custom. I bought it like this and it's one of the reasons why I bought it. The back of the neck has strange horizontal lines under the paint and I'm wondering what these might be. There are 3 holes below the bridge. I'm guessing this might have been where the tremelo was but I can't say for sure. I remember the person I bought it from on eBay mentioned they had made some modifications but I don't recall what they were and I no longer have access to the related email account. The serial number is 508864 and the pots confirm it's a 65. Many thanks go to the people in the other thread that pointed me toward the pots and website that even got me this far. My ballpark estimate is that it's worth between $1500-2000. It does have some nicks but very few. My question to to everyone here is, does $1500-2000 seem about right for the price? Pictures and more pictures in the next few comments.
  4. Thank you everyone! All of this info is extremely helpful and I appreciate it! Sorry about my delayed reply but time moves differently these days. I had to find something to clean up the pots a bit and wait for ebay to return some data on my purchases to also try and identify 508864 a bit more. @Sgt. Pepper lol exactly! Based upon the pots, it looks like 508864 is a 1965 and 737345 is a a 1972. I used the site provided by @mab (thank you!) coupled with the serial numbers.
  5. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post about this but I'm trying to identify 2 SGs I bought many years ago. I tried to figure out the serial number system on the Gibson website but I found it really confusing! I tried using various tools online but they each give me different answers. I emailed customer service a few weeks ago but still haven't heard back. I think I've done a bit of due diligence in trying to figure this out but haven't been able to and would appreciate any/all help in identifying them because I might have to sell them to keep food on the table, though I'm hoping I really don't have to. The serial numbers are 508864 737345 (might be 737845 but I'm pretty sure it's 345). I took pictures of them and the pots (I read in the forums that might help) and can post them if it will help but I didn't want to just spam the forum right away. Would anyone be willing to provide me any help in identifying them?
