  1. I just called Albq. GC. They have 3 , 2 with cracks in top, 1 nitro finish bird in good shape. They said not many people buying high end guitars. most understanable
  2. As a custom furniture maker ,I have sprayed a lot of this stuff. I agree to stop the use but it gives such a great look. Bee's wax finish is appealing both in appearance and smell. I hope to get one soon.
  3. Would you ever buy a guitar with a cracked top just because the price was low? Repairable at what cost?
  4. That is what I found out. Would buying from GC be a deturrent to buying a sustainable Gibson? GC hires may not be as helpful in choosing as the players here.
  5. Interesting that I am going to look at a hummingbird sustainable. If shape and bracing are the same as vintage and top is what gives that sound why not? any advice?
  6. It was presented to me be as a 35 at guitar center years ago. ???? The beautiful RW back was a clincher for me to buy. I have since discovered what it really is from help from others and Martin CO. Just so everyone knows I did not overpay ,just did not understand. Now we all know what it isn't! It is a great sounding drednought guitar worth the price I paid. It is a little hard for me to play and that was my origional question. Looking to find another that would help me play more comfortably. Thanks to everyone here I will start that search.
  7. looking at hummingbird sustainable. Not blinged but same as?
  8. yes it is. I have asked them to buy back or trade. Iwill have to go to Albq. to do this. Your opinion is welcomed.

  10. Not that I know of. They sent a pdf with more info of specs. , and congatulated me for being a Martin owner. I dont know how to forward that email to this site. I have gotten more help here on this site than I did on Martin forum. They looked down on non pre war owners ! LOL
  11. To clarify: Martin gave me this info today. This Martin in marked CUSTOM which they now call specials. It is not a 35 with a 3 pc. back nor is it a 28. It is made with a 2 pc back and made for special order to big box stores. It has hybrid non scalloped bracing, rosewood back and sides, sitka spruce two piece top. Mortise and tenon neck. Hope this clears my confusion. Going to look for a gibson soon. Thank everyone. Tascosa aka Larry
  12. Thanks for your song! I grew up in Anarillo, now live in Santa fe. Tascosa is my SASS alias. GOOD LUCK ON ALBUM. Tascosa.jfif
  13. can not get pic to load I have re sized but did not help. Any ideas? I really would like you to see this as others have said the same. serial # 1075054 if that helps. tascosa1880@gmail.com
  14. The 35 is 2006 . It has a 1 piece rosewood back. Martin say they did not make any. If it is bookmatched it fooled me ,with45 yrs woodworking experiance. Rarely played .A pro set up with elixier strings sound great.
  15. Thanks everyone. A poorly asked question but great answers. Yes Tas cosa as in Texas! I may sell the Martin and return to Gibson in the future.
  16. I have a Martin D35, Iwould like to know if a Hummingbird's neck is smaller or different shape than the Martin. I have a difficult time playing the Martin Also are the newer hummingbirds as good on sound as the 60's model? I owned one then but " stupidly"traded it away.
