Sounds like a great deal Sgt! I retired 4 years ago and as a former electrician will occasionally help the electrical contractor around the corner. Enjoy your retirement and your Theater gig.
  2. Greetings to everyone, it's been a while. I used the time to actually play my guitars 😉
  3. Congratulations M-E! Nothing like motoring with the top down and a manual gear box to put a smile on your face. I'm sure there's room in the trunk (boot) so you can have both a NCD and NGD.
  4. Stunning! Make sure the neighbors enjoy it too 😉
  5. Hey Sparky, my condolences to you, your wife and the family. I know you picked that Tele since the solo to Stairway to Heaven was done on a Tele. Very fitting indeed.
  6. A new Ted McCarty design, huh? Sounds like a PRS plant to me
  7. MY # 1 would have to be my 2000 Gibson Gary Moore signature LP (not a BFG model). I believe this was the first model to be equipped with burst-bucker pups. It's basically an LP studio with a Classic neck profile, no binding, and a flamed lemon top
  8. Sgt - too. damn. funny. Maybe they should re-name themselves "Perhaps" instead of Yes. Now there's an original name.
  9. Really crummy day, rain/snow mix so the dogs were just put in the yard for a few minutes. I then decided to give each a bath at Pet Supplies Plus. They have a package called the dirty dog card that gives you fives washes for $25 and they supply the wash stalls, all the shampoo, dryers and towels. The rest of the day has been just lazing around playing guitars and sipping beers. Damn! I like this retirement thing.
  10. another vote for keeping a tele around in open G. His book was a pretty good read too.

    My in laws

Tman, sorry to hear that. My wife has relatives in Poland, so while not exactly the same, she has been to church every day lighting a candle for them. I'll have her do one for you tomorrow. Hang in there!
  12. So another thing that makes me go ...Hummm is whenever I'm considering another guitar and say aloud that I should sell a few off, the boss says "Keep em all, you obviously liked it or you wouldn't have brought it". Astounding! But then she does own 50 pairs of shoes...
  13. You're right about that. I've had too many wink at me. The curse of champagne taste and beer money...
  14. BBP, with that kind of luck you need to buy a lottery ticket, pronto! Glad all is well.
  15. So what makes me go...hummm is how most of us anthropomorphize our guitars. Specifically referring to them as "She". For instance, "She's a real beauty", "She can really sing", "How does she sound" and so forth. Now I realize that guitars, and the LP body shape (and most acoustics for that matter) vaguely resemble a female shape and some have knobs, but they also have ball ends and at least one nut. So without getting vulgar, how do you lean? Are they male, female or just a hunk of wood (mostly).
  16. Too Funny. Thank God my kids are girls. I'd hate to have more of me (in name anyway) running around.
  17. that would also be the oldest, hungriest one.
  18. How come you don't need life insurance until you die?
  19. To which George Forman do you refer Sir? I believe there are six of them.
  20. Too funny. Our lab-rottweiler mix tore up a throw pillow first time we left her alone. Put her in a crate the next several times we left the house and have not had a repeat performance. Thank God she's never played the turd card.
  21. Why, play diminished chords of course.
  22. Hi Tega, I don't want to sound mean, but looks like this is driving you crazy. You know how a guitar speaks to you when its "The One". Well this one is speaking to you in all the wrong ways (very much NOT the one). You're not happy with it so approach the shop and get an exchange or your money back. Talk to the manager/head honcho and explain your health issues did not allow you to take advantage of the refund period. If they refuse to budge, then contact Gibson directly. Their website has a customer support link with a form that allows you field a comment/complaint regardless of where you live. Don't know about you, but if I dropped 5K for a guitar, it better come with a free lesson from Jimmy Page (or guitar hero of your choice). Hope you get satisfaction (pun intended).
  23. Agree, having a pet comes with the responsibility of seeing after their needs, not limited to just feeding them. Each of ours have their own dog bed, bowels, toys and get equal time in the backyard and at the park. The little mixed breed hound is my wife's shadow and the big dog is my wingman. The little girl is a people pleaser and good-will ambassador of the house, while the big girl is the watchdog and makes sure company doesn't steal the good china.
  24. Hi Sgt, Ginger looks like she's ready for trouble. The best thing about my dogs is they won't criticize my guitar playing
