  1. Oh. I see. When artists are really popular. And most people love their music…..they actually suck when you don’t like them. Your opinion only represents one (unfortunately, very crabby) person. But please continue. The rants are very entertaining.
  2. How many tickets has Dave Matthews Band sold? 25 million As of 2018, the band had sold more than 25 million concert tickets and a combined total of 38 million CDs and DVDs. Their 2018 album, Come Tomorrow, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, making DMB the first band to have seven consecutive studio albums debut at the peak. You certainly stand in the minority with that opinion.
  3. Hey SilverTurtleZ28. I lived in Tyler, TX for a couple of years. Great state, made some good friends. How's your G45? It's ben a hot debate around here and would love to hear another opinion. Unfortunately I've never had the chance to play one.
  4. Well, what's the verdict between the bone and Tusq to your ears?
  5. I completely agree. I have never heard anyone who doesn’t play guitar(99% of the population) comment on the quality of acoustic tone when listening to a song. Ever. Those same people don’t even notice what make/model guitar is being played. And if told, it would have no real meaning to them.
  6. I admit that double pick guards look better on burst/colored guitars. But on natural top guitars they still look like an abomination to me.
  7. The CL-20 is the mahogany B/S and the CL-30 is rosewood I believe.
  8. I think the first pack of Earthwoods I ever bought were under 5 bucks.
  9. With everything going for it in the aesthetic department, I'm surprised they put such a ho-hum back on it. It doesn't seem to fit the statement the rest of the guitar is trying to make.
  10. EB Earthwood PBs are my absolute favorite strings for most of my guitars. They sound so full and creamy, and they ring and ring…. Unfortunately they don’t last long enough for me so I’ve switched to EB’s Everlast and even Paradigm PBs. I hear a slight reduction in richness, but they last 3 times as long.
  11. With my job I get to talk to some guys in their 90s a couple times a week. More than once they have told that they still like women - naked. It will never change for us, thank god.
  12. My first memories of her were from Grease. Man did I have a crush on her.
  13. Crazy story. I don't think you could get away with that nowadays.
  14. Maybe somebody let their kid hang out with them at the Gibson factory and the kid got bored, drew that and stuck it on some wood with the glue hanging around. Then the worker then used the wood for the Hummingbird thinking, "No one will ever see it, so who cares?"
  15. Holy Mackerel!! Let's see. I could buy that guitar, or a really nice house. Oh wait, I can't buy either. But that is a crazy price!
  16. I see them on Reverb on and off. There are some there now, some for a very decent price..... but most who sell on Reverb don't have a good return policy. That bothers me.
  17. That is fantastic. Who would have thought that pins that white could be a natural wood. Looks great!
  18. The headstock looks like it got caught in a meat slicer.
  19. That is really good to hear. Especially so because if I buy one, it will most likely be over the internet without playing it first. (I know everybody, I know - bad idea. Live in Maine like I do and see what other options you come up with.)
  20. I agree. That’s the point I think I might be getting at. Since the J29 and the AJ have the same body wood, bracing, and body shape, is the perceived difference in sound quality by the general public due to the differences in price tag? Wouldn’t be the first time that’s happened.
  21. Some of the rosewood patterns on the backs of AJs have looked stunning. J29s - not so much. I wonder if those visual differences translate into sound quality differences.
  22. That's high praise for the J29 to have it accepted in to a herd of AJs.
  23. Thanks Slimt. I wasn't aware of the body depth difference.
  24. Hello everyone. I have been in the hunt for a rosewood backed guitar. I respect all brands of guitar, but I have found that a Gibson acoustic is the sound my ears are in love with, Guild being second. So I'm searching for another Gibby. I'm a cheap bastard, so I buy used and always look for deals, which brings me to the J29. I have researched their specs and find them eerily similar to the AJ, even down to the 30's style advanced X bracing. Besides cosmetics, the only difference between them I find is the scale length. We all know how revered the AJ is, but it seems the J29 has spun off as kind of "Meh". Unfortunately, living halfway to nowhere, I have never had the chance to play and compare an AJ to a J29. Any thoughts from you all on the sound quality of a J29, and the reason for the huge perceived discrepancy between the AJ and the J29? Thanks in advance.
