Turns out the bridge pickup was set up too high.

Will do, it's in the shop. They initially believe the pickup's too high, so maybe that's all it was. We'll see.

Just tossed on a new string, that wasn't it 😞 I guess it's off to the shop.

Strings were just changed. I can try a new set. I notice that when I pick the e string hard, it makes a static-y noise as well. I am wondering if something went wrong with the pickup? Maybe I'll toss on a new string and see what happens.

In the middle of jamming with some friends, my low e string suddenly started sounding extremely loud compared to the a string. ie when playing blues fifths/sevenths I could barely hear the a string at all. My amp was basically all at 6 o'clock and this hadn't happened before. Seems to be with the neck pickup. Is it normal that the pickup would suddenly need to be lowered, or is it possible this is an electronic problem. I just got my guitar in December (brand new 2021 es 335) so am not sure if I should start playing around with the setup or take it back to the shop and have them look at it?

Update, it did finally arrive. It took about 3.5 months to come in. I love it. It is like it was made for me. The feel and the sound are amazing.

I guess they are going crazy because they can. I am still waiting on Gibson (no word), so if it is taking this long, I can imagine there's a fair bit of demand to "get it now".

Great guitar! That's what I have on order (still waiting). I was debating a similar choice as the OP and decided to go for the 2021 figured. Tone controls on both the guitar and the amp will help if it's too bright, and it seems the T-Types will provide more clarity for cleaner sounds.

Ah well, I still have my Blueberry to keep me going until it arrives. I'll be as patient as possible and plan for it to show up a year from now. Anything before then I will consider bonus time.

I ordered directly with a retailer (in-store). They said that Gibson isn't giving out any delivery ETAs, so I was wondering if anyone here had recently ordered one, and how long it might have taken. The chain had one in Quebec, but it wasn't in the box so I figured I would wait and get a new one (without any potential belt-buckle marks all over it) fresh from the box.

Hi All, I ordered an ES-335 about two weeks ago (from a store in Canada). They said Gibson isn't offering ETAs on how long it'll take for them to receive it. I was wondering if anyone here had any idea at all as to how long it takes to fill an order and ship it to Canada? Thanks!
