  1. made in usa stamped headstock came after 1970. its almost certainly 70-72- check the pots for a date code to be sure. the embossed gibson covers never came on the 335. the y were likely swapped out of an L-5, and were produced from 1969-1975. this info is all available in the gruhns guide. as far as being damp. as long as its not moldy youre in good shape. too dry is the worst it tends to pull itself apart. just dry it very slowly over the course of a year perhaps keep it in the basement for 6 months where its cool and mostly dry . then bring it upstairs in the ac

  3. I have an opportunity to pick up a 2007 61 sg reissue. it has some minor cosmetic dings but nothing terrible. it has 57s, bound neck , and cream toggle switch. hes asking 1200 obo is that reaonable or shoud i negotiate a little harder thanks
  4. the 57 classics are good for anything 490s are generally a rock or metal pup. Ttops should sound almost identcal to the 57 classics . so unless youre looking to spend a crapload more money go with the 57s. I just bought a 61 reissue sg with 57's, and i also have a 1970 LP with patent number pickups, and you really cant tell the differnce
