  1. Bringing this ancient (but very informative) post back into the light. Think I found another design flaw that is causing the standby switch to fry and also the inrush blowing the rectifiers mind. The stand by switch is located BEFORE the rectifier, I know of no others amps that are designed this way. It should be after the first filter cap and before the choke, this will allow the charging of those caps first and will probably make every cap down stream a little less stressed. Just a though. I’ll try it in my amp next weekend and see if it makes a difference.
