  1. Here I try the Custom through 2 cool amps, the Friedman JJ JR and PRS MT15:
  2. I've been bitten by the Gibson bug lately. Got my Gibson Les Paul Custom recently, which is also awesome! So I purchased the guitar a week or two ago. I was able to pick it up over at the local Gibson HQ, so in the showroom. Nice folks over there! The one I got seemed to come from 2021 since the serial starts with 10. It's a beautiful guitar with a great top. The finish looks and feels great, very vintage-y in fact. The neck profile is nice and fast, very comfortable. The fret edges are rolled of very nicely too. The body wood they used is also great! Not too heavy (not that I mindheavy) but very resonant and open sounding, great sound acoustically! The frets seem to have been leveled very well also, so that's great because I like my action low-ish. I was not a fan of the pickups though, I wasn't expecting that because usually I'm not picky about pickups at all. But I'm a rocker at heart and the Burstbucker 61s just were too bright and also too flubby and weak in the low end for high-gain rock and metal. So I swapped them out for a Duncan JB and 59. The result is much much better tbh. It still sounds like a Les Paul, just more versatile for me. Not saying the pickups are bad, it's all about personal preference. The guitar did have a couple of tool marks and finish flaws but nothing major. Unfortunately the screw underneath the pickguard did leave a ding but since I'm a 'pick-guard' on type of guy I guess I'll just live with that. Overall I'm very happy with the guitar. It looks great, feels great and sounds great (with the SD pickups). So I'm a happy customer!! Here's my review/demo video with some sound demos and talks about the details:
  3. Hi everyone, new member here but Gibson user since 2005! My old Les Paul Classic was the first big boy guitar I ever bought. I wish I still had it.... Through the years I've owned several Gibsons including another classic from 2003, a Les Paul menace, a Les Paul faded, an explorer and a Les Paul Custom from 2008. Eventually I ended up selling them all but I really regretted selling that custom, it was basically my dream guitar. So until a few weeks ago I only owned a LP classic from 2015 which was a cool guitar in its own right, however I sold that in order to purchase my new 60s standard, but that's another story. Anyway, I really wanted another Les Paul Custom, a regular black non-reissue Custom. So I sold my PRS SC58 and finally ordered a brand new Les Paul Custom from Thomann. It came last week and overall I'm super happy with it. It looks gorgeous, it plays great and sounds great too. Just as I remembered from my old one. Deep and rich sustain and a nice low action. The pickups are great too. Great for what I like to play which is mainly rock and metal. Also low gain stuff but primarily heavy stuff. The guitar does have some small cosmetic flaws. Not an issue for me but I figured it might be to some. If it would have been a big deal, I would have sent it back but I decided to keep it. I made a little review/demo video on this guitar along with some tones and more details on all the features and also a little bit on the cosmetic 'flaws' although I don't want to focus on the flaws too much because it's an amazing instrument. Check it out:
