Hey there! I picked up a Wine Red 2005 Les Paul Studio last week and was going to get it cleaned up just now. I applied a small amount of alcohol to a cloth and started cleaning the body. Some waxy/sticky residue immediately built up on the parts I used the cloth on and now I can’t seem to get it off. I tried using a dry as well as a slightly dampened cloth on the waxy spots but that doesn’t really do anything other than spread them further. I‘m not sure what to do now. I‘m wondering if one of the previous owners might have applied some sort of wax to the finish that I have now partly dissolved. Does anyone have any idea as to what I could use or do to get rid of the stuff?
