  1. I think as long as you get a quality instrument cable, any should work. I've never been a fan of overspending for a Mogami or the like on such basic tech.
  2. That's the 2nd LG-0 to show up here in the last week. 62 could be right.
  3. Get in touch with Taylor from Holter Pickguards, https://holterpickguards.com/product-category/all/gibson/. A little pricey, but he definitely makes a quality product.
  4. Which puts it about a year or two before they got rid of the plastic bridge, as evidenced in the pic. Some folks have had these converted to X-bracing and rosewood bridge to great effect, but it is a cost I'm not sure the guitar is worthy of. Full disclosure, I've got a '67 LG-0 and it sounds better than it has any right to. Unfortunately for it, I have several guitars that sound and play better, so it mostly sits in its case.
  5. You can also post it on the Acoustic Guitar Forum classifieds, although I think you need to make a donation first. Also, while wonky, CL and FB Marketplace are both worth trying, no fees and in person sales. Pics and price? You just might find an interested buyer here.
  6. Nice work old man! Has an Arlo Guthrie vibe to it, in the best way possible. And I think the protest song is woefully under-represented in these fubard times we live in, keep at it and damn the torpedos.
  7. I go back and forth between Retros and SCGC mid-tensions on my J-185 '52, they both sound great and bring different things out of the guitar. The Retros really hit the fundamental whereas the SCGCs bring out the overtones, which on a maple guitar are not too overpowering.
  8. Another youngun' here, LBJ was pres when I was born.
  9. As others have said already, love the J-200 guard and Waverly's on the J-15, makes for a truly elegant looking guitar. I would sport that guitar with all sorts of pride, congrats!
  10. It's all a matter of personal taste. I've never been a fan of Les Paul Customs, or black guitars, so these do nothing for me. But I'm sure there are plenty of folks out there that would love to rock one of these.
  11. I hear ya, I've had it posted on CL for a month or so and just a few low ball offers. Definitely a buyer's market right now. Fortunately, I still thoroughly enjoy playing this guitar, so if it stays in my herd, that's okay too.
  12. Naphtha is the preferred cleaner for old nitro finishes, that and mild soapy warm water/cloth.
  13. Now that Sal has sold his, this one is still available if anyone is in the market. A great guitar, but I also have a 1953 J50 and just bought a 2020 Les Paul Standard 50s that will ultimately need to be paid for. https://westernmass.craigslist.org/msg/d/northampton-2015-gibson-j45-true-vintage/7699949598.html
  14. I know you think its a J-45, and its kinda hard to tell from the pics, but it looks more like an LG of some sort.
  15. I slotted the bridge and used non-slotted pins as much to protect the bridge plate going forward as anything else. I will say it added some sustain and maybe a more direct attack when compared to the stock pins.
