  1. I have no real history with Metallica, truth be told. I am familiar with some of their albums and songs over the years, I guess from exposure to youTube and some FM radio. But I have never been a storied, die-hard fan of any sort. This song, and the frantic, slick video though; I like it. I find nothing meh or repulsive about it. But that's just me. I'm nobody in the grand scheme of Metallica bashing. πŸ€”
  2. Fantastic stuff. Thanks for sharing, Guitar God!! πŸ™‚
  3. * I thought I had to have a 12 string guitar. (acoustic, electric, whatever) I have owned more than a few. I always sold them in the end. Even a lovely Martin. Turns out that tuning a 12 string doesn't take twice as long as a 6 string. It takes longer, for some reason. * I thought I HAD to have that single-pickup guitar with stripped-down controls. (solid body, hollow body, whatever) I have owned more than a few. I always sold them in the end. Even a lovely Gibson Les Paul Sully Erna Signature. Turns out that you end up wanting more than a sonically one-trick pony. How about you? What is the item (or items) that you just had to have, but always ended up selling later? 🀫
  4. Definitely changed out machine heads and tuning pegs. Really old guitar. Like from the 1940's. https://www.gbase.com/gear/gibson-lg-2-banner-headstock-vintage-flattop-acoustic-guitar-w-ossc-1945-sunburst https://guitar.com/features/gibson-kalamazoo/ πŸ™‚
  5. That's my story. I'm using a pedal board right now, and this is probably going to be it for the long haul. I must confess one thing though; There were a few gigs where the multi-effects unit was a lightweight convenience. One in particular, where we played an outdoor event in Big Spring Park. We had to pack efficiently, and load in and out in a timely manner, since there were multiple bands on the bill that day. I didn't load in any amps, pedals, or SM57's. Just used a Digitech multi-effects pedal, cabled directly into the PA head. That was a quick set up and tear-down, for sure! (For me anyway. My brother and the bass player mic'ed their amps, and drummer Bob's Gretsch kit as well.) πŸ™‚
  6. The email came thru. Thank you so much, ksdaddy. And Happy Thanksgiving. I give thanks for you. πŸ™‚
  7. I must clarify, I have attempted to use the "Forgot Password?" link on each failed log-in, and the statement there promises that log-in instructions will be emailed to the email address of record. No such email ever shows up, sadly. 😐
  8. Thanks for responding in the thread, ksdaddy. A few days ago, after finding I was unable to log-in as sparquelito, I clicked on the 'Contact Us' link (at the bottom of the Gibson Forums pages) and left a message for Admins and Mods detailing my problem. I did so once using my original email, mail@john.sparkman.name I did the same thing again yesterday, using my simoncullina@yahoo.com email address. Maybe these Contact Us messages go off to Powered By Invision Community admins and mods, and not the Gibson forum ones? Here's what the message format looks like down there after clicking on the link: Anyway. If somebody could give me instructions on how to get in and reset my password, that would be fabulous. Thanks! πŸ™‚
  9. Sparky here, long time member and first time poster to the Introduce Yourself forum. My hobbies include long walks on the beach, occasionally changing web browsers, finding it impossible to log into the Gibson Forums after forgetting my elderly passwords, sending repeated messages to the Gibson Forums Admins and Moderators for some help getting into my account, getting ZERO response, and then cursing in an angry and obscene fashion. Anyway, here I am. Sparquelito2 instead of sparquelito. If anybody knows how to let me into my long-established forum account, I'm open to suggestion and advice. 😐
