I can tell by looking at it that it isn't bone. To tell if something is bone, take a pin and heat it red-hot. Then touch it to the material. If it smells like burnt hair then it's bone. Otherwise it's not. For those who are not as mentally-endowed as most, hold the pin with pliers while performing this technique.

The owners of TDPRI are the same as those of Gretsch-Talk, The Gear Page and others. I got permanently banned from Gretsch-Talk without warning because I used the term "transgendered freak" in a sentence! I got banned from TDPRI for making a joke about tampon machines in the boys restroom in a high school. I guess the people who run those sites are very sensitive and frail.

That's debatable. Different? Yes. But the best? I don't know. There were a lot of great players around back then - some are still here.
