1. Airbourne is quite big actually, but I agree it was a pretty haphazard stunt.
2. I can't find a complaint with my Standard, other than one small flaw in the neck binding. The bevels don't bother me as the "Batwing" models have never had as deep bevels as the 61-65 models. I'm pleased with the color on mine, other than if it's in extremely bright light the mahogany color bleeds through sometimes. Also mine has either a one piece body or an beautifully matched two piece body, I can't see a seam, even on the end grain. So needless to say, I'm pretty pleased with it. I lucked up and got an old stock 08, though, so I can't vouch for the newer ones lately.
3. Sabbath rules!!!! Iommi is one of the most underated guitarists in history.
4. That lady had the best voice of all time, IMO.
5. Sweet SGs.....but $4,500 THAT'S CRAZY:-&
6. If you look back through history, none of the "batwing pickguard" SGs ever had surrounds on the pickups. But, if you want them, any Gibson style surrounds should work.
7. I like Thorogood's p90 hollowbody tone, sounds like a pissed-off electric shaver[cool]
8. Kick ***, here's another from Paris
9. I heard S.D. Phat Cats are good.
10. The way I see it, if people still listen to it and play it, it's not dead. I guess we can agree to disagree on this one[biggrin]
11. I've heard that the size of the windings makes a difference, but I really don't know. I'll probably route my SG Special for soapbar p90s, eventually. From what i've heard you can't get a true p90 sound from a bucker sized p90.
