You asked me to look closer,  and thought I might find a "7" as the first digit.   I cannot see a 7, but this serial  number is  off-center, suggesting  there may be a missing  "7" as the first digit.  (I included a photo of the serial number)   If so, it appears my Marauder is a 1979.   Do you agree?   Was it made in Kalamazoo or Nashville?

      If there is (or is supposed to be) a 7 at the beginning, this would have been stamped on the 277th day of 1979 and it would have been the 147th guitar stamped in Nashville that day. Nashville’s last 3 digits started with 500 then, therefore 647 would be the 147th guitar. All of this is highly plausible for a Marauder. You might look for a number on the pots as well. The number you are looking for will begin with 137 or 304. The next two digits are the year. The last two digits are the week. If you see another number on the pots, that’s Gibsons part number.
