  1. I had Killer back in Jr. High School, I must have driven crazy listening to that album OVER and OVER and OVER again!
  2. Still on the Leon Russell kick so purchased Leon Russell and the New Grass Revival's Live Album (on vinyl).
  3. Of course it's not us. How could 8 billion people bulldozing and burning everything in sight cause a problem?
  4. Our air quality just got downgraded to Poor for the rest of the week. I hope they're wrong about this being the New Normal.
  5. Remember a couple of years back when Digger posted those horrific photos of the fire damage in Australia?
  6. We need a poll: who will be here longer, Sgt. Pepper or Gibson's new CEO? I'll vote for Sgt. Pepper. Someone here recommended Roland and I've been really happy with that brand. It's their Black Series, it seems to be well made and doesn't appear to have any sonic degredation that I can tell.
  7. I watched Edgar Winter Live On Stage featuring Leon Russell. Sax came through loud and clear, piano was down WAY too low, Leon was dressed like he was ready to split and hit the beach. That got me thinking about the Winter brothers so coming my way is the double album, Edgar Winter - Brother Johnny.
  8. Okay, I confess. It was me, it must have fallen of my pocket when I was pulling out change for a vending machine. No need for an FBI lab, I could have identified the substance if they got on the PA system and asked if anybody knew what this is. I sure do, here's a magic trick, I can make it disappear.,,
  9. Getting back on topic, those fires are still going like crazy. A guy on a motorcycle site said they're 30 miles from him, he's got the vehicles gassed up and has spare Jerry Jugs of gas in case he has to run for it.
  10. I see why you got rid of your electrics, I guess that a D-35 would have presented a considerable challange.
  11. A mix of blue eyed soul, gospel, blues and rock and roll. Japanese release of American music shipped from England. Great piano work and Les Pauls with P90s.
  12. Smothered in between her 43 triple Ds. It probably wasn't worth it.
  13. A mystery. Perhaps he ran off with the Chibson AND the recent divorcee who just so happens to be a wealthy nymphomaniac with oversized breast implants. The End.
  14. More of the Tom Waits catalog is being re-released. I pre-ordered Bone Machine and The Black Rider on vinyl, I have all the rest aside from the Glitter and Doom collection, I'm content to just have that on CD as his voice was REALLY bad - kind of like Bob Dylan with pneumonia bad. https://tomwaits.kingsroadmerch.com/?ffm=FFM_661106038fb99f882544b4d542e3884d
  15. If you want to watch a boa constrictor eat a young chicken or a guy eat a beer glass, you'll enjoy A Poem Is A Naked Person. Mad Dogs and Englishmen, The Concert For Bangladesh or The Homewood Sessions it ain't.
  16. Grace was a beautiful woman when she was younger. The Jefferson Airplane wouldn't have been much without her, I don't think. She really was the star of the band.
  17. I broke down and ordered a used DVD, Edgar Winter Live On Stage featuring Leon Russell. It's a concert from 1988 and from what I've read it's supposed to be pretty good. I always liked both of these guys.
  18. Then there's Grace Slick, wanting to dose Nixon - that would have been intersting. On a more serious note, I discovered when I had my heart attack that the doctor's are seeing a very strong correlation between past cocaine abuse and heart attacks in people my age (mid to late 50s). If anyone here has children, I would stress that the effects from drug use today can really come back and bite you later on. The damage you're doing won't show up until later on. Of course, kids probaby won't listen to some old fart but it's worth a shot.
  19. Thank you, I've been working out down at the gym. I really need to quit being so cheap and buy a hat brush...
  20. It's hard to tell, that could be lint on the homburg.
  21. It must be the weather, normally the locals are blowing up stuff for hours on end for a good two weeks straight. Don't got no doggie but I'm sure the reptiles don't care for it very much.
  22. It is here, the Vintage Richlite Thread. You know, they just don't make counter top material like they used to. Back in 2015 they really knew what they were doing. They were motivated, the workforce was dedicated and so much of it was a black art lost to time. The old workers aren't there any more and they didn't keep records of the formulas and it was all done by hand. These guys (and girls) were skilled craftsmen. Henry J. used to walk through the plant and he knew everybody's name. Hey, Joe, how's the wife, how's the kids, where you goin' with that Richlite in your hand? Today, it's a whole different thing.
  23. You can skip Good-Bye, Blue Sky by them, that wasn't so hot. An album about nuclear Winter, how cheery. I'm going to have to look into some of the stuff they did before 10cc got together. Ordered the new PJ Harvey, that shoud be here by this weekend. She tries to make every album totally different than the one before it so who knows what I'll get. It could be dulcimer and tuba recorded in a monestary.
