Gibson.
Remember when Firebirds dropped down to around a grand one year? They must have had a stockpile to clear out.
Motorcycle manufacturers all do it to clear out remaining inventory, Buck knives, you get the idea.

It was you.

The Chiefs wake up at the end.
That was a good game with a great finish.

I saw that with the Studio, two grand.
HA!

Yes, that is a coil splitter.

There's plenty of "highlight" reels featuring my hapless Giants.
The best one is where the wind gets the ball and the kicker misses it.

I bought one of those brand new from Manny's in NYC.
That is an awfully nice guitar, all 50 pounds of it...

Of course I'll be watching.
This should be a really good game, the whole post season has been great.

Join a punk rock band.
Then you can use other people's spit so you don't run out.

Martin was long before Taylor, Taylor has the necks bolted on like Herman Munster's head.

When the gas prices go up, everything follows suit. The price of gas is slowly dropping after they hammered us post lock-down.
We're actually drilling more oil than ever before, you just don't hear much about it:
-
Prices will drop when the demand does.
I will do my part by not purchasing a new Martin J-40.
Take that!
-
I noticed today that Martin has done similar.
The J-40 I always liked jumped up $400 to $4400. Good thing I don't really need it.

I think I'm wrong on the Firebird VII as I found the case and it says Gibson USA on it, all the case candy disappeared.

From looking at Gibson's web site, the realist of the real Custom Shop models should start with a CS. Unless they don't!

The serial numbers are pressed in.
I never really thought about where they were made or what department, I do know they have a different feel to them than the other Gibsons I have. It's hard to describe but you can tell as soon as you pick them up. I think these were both real short runs.

I do not know the answer to your questions but I do like that new marketing angle, Gibson Vintage Reissue Resotration Kit: For that rubbery nitro feel.

I think the Custom Shop is a place designated in the plant for the higher end stuff to be made. It many for not be an actual designated area.
Custom is a model. Like the LP Custom. It had the split diamonds to signify it was a Custom.
Then there is Custom as in I want my guitar built to my custom specs.
I think that's best summation you're ever going to get.

Were/are they labeled "Custom Shop" in some form or fashion? I am, admittedly, not very versed in how Gibson labels/marks their Custom Shop guitars but, they should bare some type of "Gibson Custom Shop" designation/badging.
345 orange sticker inside just says Made In Memhis, COA booklet says hand-built by Gibson Custom, blah blah blah Rick Gembar General Manager, Senior Vice President Gibson Custom Shop, nothing on the guitar says Custom Shop, case has Gibson Custom Shop with a star.
Firebird VII somewhere I read custom shop, I can not swear to the veracity of the claim.

The first version is a true "Gibson Custom Shop", which is made to order, (or was made to order originally,) or possibly from a very limited release of a version/versions of Gibson guitars made by hand (for the most part) by the Gibson Custom Shop. Either way, every Gibson "Custom Shop" guitar was built in the Gibson Custom Shop.
I think this would cover my ES-345 and possibly my Firebird VII. Limited run, expensive when new.

Some pictures would help us give you some idea of what you have.
Gibson's serial numbers are all over the place.

Mose Allison - Autumn Song (cd)
The Kinks - Kronikles, The Journey parts 1 and 2 (vinyl)

That's really handsome.
How do you like these new models?
