In the time period between when he first broke up King Crimson and then reformed it, young Mr. Fripp was doing a tour with some tape recorders, a Les Paul, a ton of electronics and probably a sweater vest. I understand that he practiced his material in laundrymats to see how it went over (no, I am not kidding). His demented better half must be burning through the money like crazy as he's started releasing and re-releasing the material on vinyl. If you like his guitar playing pick them up before they go out of print and the prices go crazy.

I bowed out right as things were creeping north of $2100 shipped for a really nice Les Paul, they were just getting too rich for my blood. I'm guessing $3000 Les Paul Standards this time next year. I hope I'm wrong but I don't see the oil companies deciding their profits are too high so maybe they should knock the price down a bit. It's hard to say but that crack by the nut indicates shipping damage with the string tension holding the crack shut. I would not keep this guitar.

It's not sustaining? What's your pick up height like? Try a nickle under the bridge pick up low E, penny under the high E For neck try a penny under the low E, dime under the high E string and see what you get.
