With that second mini switch my guess is whoever did the modifications to the guitar put in a coil tap (splitting) switch, that's not stock. It's to give the pick ups a different sound. As for value, I guess it would depend on how old your son is and if originality matters at all to him or not. I'm sure he'll be thrilled no matter what.

It had mini humbuckers, somebody did a poor job of mounting humbuckers and then stuck on that vibrato part.

Very nice! I wasn't aware of that model and I especially like the way it turns into a Fender bass when you turn the VariTone to 7, it's like getting two guitars in one!

I don't know for sure but I remember reading about somebody saying he used the cheapest, raggediest guitar cord on earth so maybe it was something to keep it actually working?

It kind of sounds like you're worrying about nothing from your description. Now if your frets fall out our your binding pops off that's cause for genuine concern.

Now the updated from Pending to Out For Delivery. Their tracking is terrible. Supposedly my Amperex tubes are on the truck for delivery today. Just like it was being delivered yesterday but never was marked Out For Delivery. We'll see what happens. I told the seller to file a claim.

A guy on another site said Sweetwater shipped a guitar FedEx Ground to him, it spent 3 days being out for delivery on the truck. The driver just kept bringing it back to the terminal!

Over the Summer I watched a FedEx driver flip a large box, marked FRAGILE in giant letters, off of the back of a truck onto a neighbor's yard. The same week FedEx delivered a preamp to my neighbor's house and indicated that I actually signed for the package. Right now a parcel marked Signature Required was delivered 50 miles away and was signed by somebody else. They seem to be unable to retrieve the package as it went from scheduled for redelivery to no delivery date available. Has anyone else had their FedEx deliveries just go totally haywire on them?

The plastic parts don't look right and I don't see any nibs? Did rct take these pictures? I know they made some Customs without an ebony fret board. What's it like in the control cavity?

It was made in TN not the Dental Floss state. I think his problem with the frets was he just didn't like the feel of them. Five minutes with some steel wool and some painter's tape for the pick ups could have done the trick. I don't think it was fret sprout as the ends are covered with binding. Take the enclosed Gibson multi tool and adjust the pick ups and you're all set. I agree, here's your money back and buy something else.

I listened to the album (big black thing) last night, it's really good. I screamed and cried until I wet my pants and went home soggy but happy. Like Abby Road, the cover is ridiculously thin but the sleeve it good, no gatefold which was a disappointment. On another Fab note, the 50th anniversary All Things Must Pass still sounds like Phil Spector was involved. Big wall of syrupy mush with the bass cranked up for a lot of the tracks. One listen was enough to wish I had my money back.

I've never seen him and I would like to fix that. Does he still tour?

I've never owned a wall hanger, I just don't like the whole idea of it. I keep them all in the cases except for two Firebirds on stands. They seem to do okay.

From what I heard of The White Album the remasters are fab.
