  1. I was just at the Namm show and played this guitar at the Gibson booth. The guitar was okay, but it did not have a rosewood fret board, which was somewhat of a turn off for me. I decided not to purchase one.
  2. The Summer Namm Show was a big bore again for me this year. I wish the summer show would go to a different location, maybe New York or Detroit, where there is energy and excitement. Gibson was there, but there was nothing new that hasn't already been shown. The limited edition Epiphone Peter Frampton Texan was not there, which I was interested in and no J180 Everly Brothers either. Major rock artists weren't there, but I am hoping they will be at the winter 2019 Namm Show. I don't know how many more variations of a Les Paul there can be, but they were there at the show. I do miss the pre-show party's that Gibson used to put on at the custom shop in Nashville, where you got served a steak dinner, Peter Frampton would perform, and you would get swag up the ear with Gibson products. Those were great days and I wish they would come back!
  3. I will be at Namm Thursday and I will definitely drop by and see the Gibson booth and I am hoping that Gibson will have a J180 reissue acoustic on display, the Everly Brothers edition.
  4. Any information on the forth coming Peter Frampton Epiphone Texan guitar?
  5. Back in the early 2000's, I bought a new Gibson J160E that was based off the Beatles guitar from Fullers and I love that guitar. I got a great deal and the guitar was shipped to me packaged securely with no issues. When I need a Gibson now, I go to my guy at the Nashville Guitar Center and he gets me what I need. Last year I got one of the limited edition cherry burst J45 based off of the early 60's model, like Donavan plays. That guitar really sounds good recording with it. I would love to have a J180 based off of the Everly Brothers guitar, but I haven't been able to find one. I wish Gibson would reissue that guitar again.
  6. Will Gibson be at the summer Namm Show 2018 in Nashville? This company is about 20 minutes from the convention center and it would seem nuts not to have a booth there. I was disappointed that Gibson was not at the winter Namm Show this year. I buy Gibson guitars and I base off of what I see at the Namm Show, and if I see a guitar I want, I call my sales guy and have it ordered. If a company does not show at Namm, it is very likely I will not be buying a guitar from them.
  7. I read recently that Janis's Hummingbird was going up on the auction block. Anyone have further information on this?
  8. I would leave everything stock on the guitar. If your tuners are working with no issues, why change them? Your Explorer looks very nice.
  9. Contact The Music Zoo in New York and ask for Jessica, she can get you one. She got me mine and it was delivered yesterday to me and it is gorgeous and the quality and craftsmanship is fantastic. You will not be disappointed. These guitars are the 1976 reissue models that come out every so often.
  10. I just got delivered to me yesterday by UPS overnight air the new 1976 Reissue Gibson Explorer in natural finish from The Music Zoo. Wow Gibson really did a great job on this guitar with quality and craftsmanship. Jessica from The Music Zoo had to special order this guitar for me and it only took about 4 weeks to get it. I received great customer service from Jessica, and this was the first time I had ever done business with The Music Zoo, and I will being doing future purchases from Jessica. The guitar was packed very good and it arrived in the morning at my door undamaged. UPS did a great job on their delivery service! The guitar pictured by Graphic Artist is like the one I just got. I have tons of Gibson guitars, but this is my first Explorer and I am very pleased with the weight and the neck on the guitar is perfect! I can say I had a bit of influence on seeing in photo's the cool Eric Clapton and the Edge using this guitar, which had me wanting one. Thanks fellows!
  11. I am drooling over the new Gibson USA Limited Edition Trans Amber Explorer. I will be at the Namm Show tomorrow and I hope Gibson will have one of these guitars on display. I contacted my sales guy at Guitar Center regarding this guitar. I love how simple the guitar is with no bling. 1 toggle switch, volume and tone knob, no pick guard. Anyone have a chance to try one of these Explorers out yet?

  13. I will be attending the winter 2016 Namm Show in a few weeks, and I was wondering what Gibson artists will be at the event signing autographs and what new guitars will be unveiled at the booth? The past several years, Gibson seems to be having special events at one of the hotel venues in Beverly Hills and how does one get invited to these?
