  1. I think it'd be best if you use a guitar dater to find out about the date. http://guitardaterproject.org/gibson.aspx Thur ya' go! *Note that I just skimmed through what you wrote so this may not be what you're asking for. Meh, dunno!
  2. You should be happy with the deepness of the bevels, my STD SG is shallow as.
  3. They aren't at all bad! They may not be as great as the 60s ones but, they are still great in it's own way.
  4. It sorta looks like a norlin era guitar. The singer from wolfmother has a similar guitar in tobacco burst.
  5. The '61 if it has a bigsby, same goes for the Standard.

    1981 SG ID

The EMG must have been put in later, other than that, I don't know.
  7. Why don't the 60's specials have binding on them? that's what made them beautiful!
  8. Even though my SG has neck dive, I rarely need to take my hand off when playing standing up. So... why not just adjust the guitar in a state that the neck in pointing at a steep angle upwards?

    All Gibsons have nitro finishes.
  10. I thought they only came in walnut!

    2010 SG

I believe most SG STDs are now 2 pieces (like mine) due to the shortage of old mahogany :'( this goes for many other guitars using other various hardwoods.
  12. I'd like it even more if it had a bigsby and p-90 in the neck :)
  13. If it had a bound neck and a soapbar pup, then yes :)
