  1. I look on YouTube a lot and I came across a guitarist, Javier Vinas. This is a great album. I bought it for my car. He's a tasty player.
  2. The website is already up. $5500 for a V? Mmmm. https://echoparkinstruments.com/
  3. Les Paul never seems to be on the lists and he was a great player. If people looked at his work they'd see that Bing Crosby hired him and for such a clean sound he was fast. Plus he probably gave more to modern music than anyone. If you have to ask, research him. He was no fool and constantly tried to improve equipment all his life, right up til the end. A guitarists guitarist. Notice that his P90's are different here in this clip.
  4. Why couldn't there have been a competition. Buy a new Gibson and go into a draw to win one? Whether you like them or not, winning one would be good. They could be marked to show they were seconds and a competition win to devalue them slightly and I'm sure some people would buy a new Gibson to try and win one. It would have only been 10-20 per country anyhow. Lots of corporations have bad PR. Heaven knows why? Here in the UK we had a problem with milk. The farmers were being paid less than it cost to produce it by the supermarkets. So why couldn't the shops have got together and increased the price by 10p and paid it to the farmers? Everyone would to keep the product home produced. But they didn't. Stupid.
  5. Why couldn't they just hire someone to take the electrics out and turn them into a normal guitar? The waste in this world in unbelievable. Especially food, while people go hungry. It makes you ashamed to be human. But profit rules in the boardroom.
  6. I've seen this ad for a Les Paul local to me. Bargain price. Anyone after one in the Midlands UK? https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1215762798594548/

  8. Plus there are many returned guitars with faults (B stock).
  9. Seems odd that it's 50 years ago. Still better than most bands now.
  10. For a bargain. Wait until the model year is ending. Then they sell that years stock off to make way for the new models. I got my new Player Plus for £999. https://imgur.com/46hVftE
  11. The best smell in the world. Puppies.

That looks nice. I've been looking for a parlour guitar too. I have a kink for Eko. The Italian brand. I learned on one and have some more. They do a nice one.
  13. How about Superstition. SRV vs Stevie Wonder?
  14. I must say that I see no difference here to a Chinese or Korean guitar maker. The speed that they turn them out. There's no finesse at all. The only luthier work I saw was the neck fitting and the end finishing job. But the way the files were so quickly run over the bridge and nut show that it's mass production and not a careful process. It's like they haven't got time to actually look at the guitar. On all the Les Paul's I've seen and bought in the past few years, the problems have been on the finishing. Poor neck work. I feel they've a long way to go to change the public's view of them.
  15. When I bought my LP Special recently. The seller had a Guild acoustic for sale and it was so light. It virtually floated away. Lovely guitar.
  16. They own 'Double Ball'! Ooh Matron!! ps. Do you Americana's understand and get the 'Carry on' humour?
  17. I think it was a warning that Gibson are going to attack China. They're going to bomb the Chibson factories. They're going to drop P90's on them. Hit them right in the Kluson's and blow their chambers up.
  18. When my brother tours America, he says his favourite place is Texas. But the only problem with it is the people. I don't know what he means though.
  19. So, if your house is $10m. You'd pay between $100k and $300k a year?
  20. 3.03. Even the ghost of Bing Crosby pops in.
  21. My point on food is that wherever you come from there is a 'pot' meal that is cheap and filling. My Dad was a Geordie (from Newcastle for US viewers) and moved to Birmingham for work. We had stew, pigs feet etc. I still love those foods. But if you go to another country they have variations on stew. In India, curry is a pot of food and the spices cover up the poor taste. But the general pot of food is the same. I like dumplings in my stew and they are copied around the world too.
  22. I was listening to a programme the other day about pizza. It was saying that the pizza we have is wrong and the pastry party should be light and fluffy. Then the topping is different to how we have it. I suppose it's a cultural food, just like stew. Stew is the same as curry really and must differ all around the world.
  23. https://www.southwark.gov.uk/council-tax/bands-and-charges These are the London Council tax charges. Your house could be £100m and you'd only pay £2,773. The rich in the UK just pocket so much money.
